My other visits were 5+ years ago (excellent), however when I was prompted by a friend asking about my past experiences, I went to the site to check out the current menu (since they are seasonal farm to table) and found that they were offering a 4-course Thanksgiving menu! $95/person

I’ve looked forward to this meal for 2 weeks (deciding between the turkey or the wagyu) and it did not disappoint!! Not a single morsel was left on any of my plates and I was not rushed while eating! (I hate being rushed to eat)

Roger was my bartender/server and made excellent craft cocktails as well as great food recommendations (I went with the turkey per his suggestion…so tender and flavorful and I’m not exactly a huge turkey fan, but YUM!).

All the staff was tentative and nice, up to and including management!

I already have my reservation for Christmas Eve and can’t wait to see what will be on the menu!!

I can’t afford to treat myself to a night out very often, but this was absolutely worth it and will continue to be my holiday plans while I live in Westport!

Lovely restaurant with beautiful atmosphere and eclectic menu. The service was excellent. Our server, i unfortunately don’t remember his name was wonderful, he was attentive without being overpowering. All of the food we had was very good but for me there wasn’t anything memorable. I think my favorite bite was the little gem lettuce. Beautifully fresh and lovely crunch from the rice crunch. A few of us tried the 3 course menu and it was tasty.

It pains me to write this because I really like this place. I go to both locations and I like the Westport locations vibe and service far better than the Greenwich location. But the food is far more consistent at the Greenwich location.

Today was my third time here and second dinner meal. They always accommodate me and I appreciate. I come for the burger because it’s infamous, but the chef at the Westport location absolutely does not know how to cook beef. It’s beyond ridiculous.

When it comes to ground beef, it’s only well done for me. Steaks? Different story, but a hamburger? Needs to be well done. The first time the burger was burnt, mind you, the Greenwich location has no problems making a burger done without charring it. I figured this was a fluke and I even talked to the owner about it. He apologized, I still ate it and paid for it. I gave it a second chance months later and same thing, a burnt burger. It’s ridiculous. But this time I’m not going to pay upwards of $30 for something not good. They remade it to go for me because I had agreed to be done by 6;30 so I waited until I got home. The burger had pink. Pink! On a well done burger. Now either this location has a chef that does not know how to cook beef or he was being passive aggressive over having to make it again. Either way, the photo is the second version of well done. And of course, I couldn’t eat that either.

Again, I like this place because of the service but the cost does not justify not getting what I ordered. I’ll stick to Greenwich location for now.

Hands down, this was a peak dining experience for the year. Coming from NYC, you have high expectations, but The Cottage in Westport absolutely delivered a stellar meal that made the trip worth every mile.

Our server was fantastic—knowledgeable, attentive, and spot-on with their guidance. We took their advice and ordered the most popular items on the menu, and I can see exactly why they are signatures.

You cannot leave here without trying the Wagyu Brisket Steam Buns. The brisket was incredibly tender, but the real game-changer was the duck fat potato tempura inside—it added this insane textural contrast that I wasn’t expecting. We also did the Lobster Spaghetti, which was executed perfectly; the addition of sea urchin and Calabrian chili gave it a rich, complex depth that balanced the sweetness of the lobster beautifully.

We finished with the Duck Fried Rice, which was savory, comforting, and elevated by the quail eggs on top.

The service was seamless, the vibe was cozy yet sophisticated, and the food was unforgettable. If you are anywhere near Westport, go. Easy 5 stars.

So my personal bias is I love farm to table and good tasting healthy food but I don’t need my food to look artsy. So for haute cuisine this place is legit and top notch as are the prices. The portions are small with the emphasis being on presentation and all the other elements however I think even with everything considered the menu is overpriced. The halibut in the picture was $57. I’ve had better tasting halibut at other places for half the price with better portions, but the presentation is spot on and immaculate. That said this is an experience and perhaps not really intented for a regular Joe such as myself. Walking out the door having spent $300 for two people without any wine purchased and wondering where the nearest pizza place is doesn’t seem fulfilling…but it is Westport…..

I loved the great customer service and the calm, simple, clean and “cottage-like” atmosphere. The food was creatively placed on every plate and was delicious! We celebrated my brother’s 60th birthday and we all enjoyed it. It’s a little difficult to find because it’s not on the main drag. You have to go behind a parking lot and make a few turns – GPS was wrong. It’s a small, lovely place with charm- a little gem – will return!

The Cottage has quickly become one of our new favorite restaurants in Fairfield county! We had a cozy date night here enjoying our seasonal dishes! We loved the green goddess dressing and brioche croutons on our “Cottage Salad”. The wagyu brisket bao buns were also a highlight, and it was our first time trying squid ink aioli, which really exceeded our expectations! My fiancé ordered the Berkshire pork tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly and even came with a knödel (similar to matzo balls), which we thought was a great pairing! Their hand-cut tagliatelle was exceptional with lamb, labne, and a touch of mint. Desserts were equally as amazing as the rest of the meal! The broken meyer lemon tart was topped with a thick layer of meringue, and the devil’s food cake was topped with a bourbon caramel and paired with espresso mascarpone. The cocktails hit the mark as well, and I appreciated that they had a section for low/no alcohol drinks! Our experience at The Cottage was definitely memorable, and we highly recommend adding them to your list of restaurants to try in Fairfield county!

Super cute little place! Definitely recommend having a reservation as seating is limited. We came for brunch and were really happy with our meals. We had the frittata and lobster Benedict, followed by the vanilla spiced pavlova. Our server Derrick was very nice and extremely attentive despite it being busy.

nothing short of spectacular. from the shabby chic white washed wooden beams interior to the last drink, this is a place to celebrate that special occasion, a date night or just the fact you’re in the neighborhood.

we’ve been treated like kings, melanie curated a perfect chef’s choice dinner for us, the food was stellar, the drinks pairings spot on, and we all left with a huge smile.

they need to bottle and sell that house made limoncello and make a fortune.

Service: impeccable. Food: Completely hit or miss. We’ve been here twice and have given it a well rounded shot. ~30% of the menu has an Asian influence, which is not the chef’s strong suit. Overall, if The Cottage stuck to their America roots, the meals would be a lot more successful. There were some very high points (see below), but overall I will not be returning. Individual dish notes below.

Amazing dishes/drinks: deviled eggs, squash agnolotti, spicy pear drink, sticky toffee pudding

Good dishes: fois gras, crab toast, chocolate pot de crème

Mediocre dishes (Asian influence): spicy squid and broccoli (squid two ways, both overcooked), Maine halibut (very overcooked, vague curry flavoring), duck fried rice (duck overcooked and overall not great).

Mediocre dishes (other): shaved radish toast, dulce de leche cake (reminiscent of something from The Cheesecake Factory)
