I went with my cousin to the Yardy Rum Bar on Friday night at 5:00 p.m. we had the chick pea on bread appetizer. He had the jerk chicken with the thick crispy and salty fries. I had a large slab of adobo pork with pickled something on it. We had rum drinks and we finished it off with raisin rum ice cream and chocolate cake. All of the food was excellent! We sat in the patio where are we ordered online and then later paid online, so that was very efficient. Even though we entered at 5:00 p.m., their opening time, with about 20 or so other people, our food and drinks arrived in a timely manner. There were at least three episodes of wrong food being set on our table. Patio to me usually indicates an outdoor area, which it was not in this case. I’d eat there again in a heartbeat.

First off big shout out to Niko, Isaiah and staff ❤️ much love and respect. Yardy has delivered every time. The food is consistent with great taste and authentic flavor. Made with love. Great spot to chill from a long day. You know one thing that gets me every time when I receive my order is the presentation!!!! Always on point . Again much love and respect. When you arrive you have to order the chicken.

I have to admit I came here after searching Reddit for “cocktail” and sae the NYT article about the place. My wife and I like to keep it safe with date night and go to places we know we will enjoy but I made the call to come here purely on the menu that I saw on the website.

Let me tell you. This place is the real deal. Absolutely smashed my expectations and easily pushed out the old number one restaurant in Eugene for me. This is our new number one favorite place to do date night. We will be back. Hostess was welcoming and the wait staff were prompt and went out of their way to help. I think the owner was running the bar that night?

We got there at 1745 on a Friday and ordered 2 starters, then a starter and two entrees after our first cocktail. The entire time we were sitting people kept coming in and asking for availability. Grab a cocktail and wait on the patio. Get here early and order as you need tip well and enjoy yourself. Would rate higher if I could. Love love love this place

Yardy is a great little resteraunt in Eugene with a Caribbean themed menu. It is located in a converted house in the downtown area. The menu is relatively small and changes seasonally. We found plenty of intriguing offerings. Everything was excellent and they had vegan options as well which were delicious and creative. As far as I know they do not take reservations and can get quite busy so arrive a bit before you would like to eat. Parking is on the streets surrounding the resteraunt as well as a neighboring parking garage and there are a few spots in the lot behind the building. Overall we had an excellent dinner and the food was really tasty. Will return!

Is it worthy of the hype? In a word, yes

Flavorful food and drink, meticulously prepared and wrapped in a converted historic home with all the quirks you would expect an older home housing a restaurant to have; limited indoor seating, patio seating, narrow walkways, making space where possible.

Ordering via counter service shoehorned into the entry and/or the now ubiquitous QR code ordering (yuck) don’t do justice to the truly special food. Service was timely for our group of 5 even with the fried chicken on our order.

Good food y’all

I’m writing this to give input to future customers and feedback for the owner.
I ordered the plaintain crispy chicken sandwich, I was pleasantly surprised by the juicy chicken, crispy outer fry, and the flavor. I was disappointed that I really didn’t see anything besides the sauce and the chicken, there seem to be tiny amounts of pickled vegetables, but the sandwich could be made even better bye simply adding some sort of coleslaw or more layers inside besides just the chicken.
The rum ice cream is delicious but could be a little less sweet, the chocolate cake is satisfying in texture and it’s not too sweet, very moist.
The service was good, atmosphere is appealing and comfortable.
Thank you for feeding me!
I’ll be back to try other things.

Overall an amazing experience. Food is super delicious. In particular I recommend the Jerk Beet Salad and the Jerk Chicken. The Jerk Pork plate is also delicious; the sausage is INCREDIBLE but the coppa is a bit underwhelming in comparison. Great cocktails, delicious desert, fun atomosphere. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars for service is because it’s all counter service/QR codes but everyone who worked there was very friendly and competent, just no one going ‘above and beyond’ that I experienced. We will definitely be returning.

Family style plates and delicious food. We had the Doubles, 3pc Chicken, and Jerk Veggie plate (comes with market veg and red beans and rice).

The doubles are a delight, a set of two fried flatbreads topped with curried chickpeas. Lightly spicy, fully spiced, with a refreshing herbal and sour note that brings it all together.

The fried chicken, a delight–juicy, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. Served with a curry and spicy pepper sauce that bring brightness and heat if you’re wanting that.

The jerk veggie plate was also terrific. Since it’s market veg I hesitate to comment on specific veg, but we had a variety of root vegetables that were cooked to perfection. And the red beans and rice were amazing and comforting paired with the chicken.

Didn’t get any of the liquor but the listened to the bartender give a couple of the nearby tables some great rundowns; we did have an incredible local cider that paired amazingly with the menu we had.

Despite counter/qr code ordering, we found the service excellent–we didn’t have to ask for water at all, and it was lovely to chat about the menu with the staff. I hope you all enjoy this gem in your community!

Food was great, staff was great. Cool vibe set in an old house. You’ll likely have to wait. We arrived 15 minutes before opening on Saturday and there was a line of about 20 people already and the same when we left. But it was a fun experience and the jerked chicken I had was really good. A fun place to visit.
