Cesar salad was delicious and so was the braised beef arancini. The pizza was not our favorite. CT pizza just does not hit like NY. But nonetheless the service was great and welcoming.

While visiting the area, my girlfriend and I happened upon this gem of a restaurant. Since her Golden was waiting in the truck, we ordered a variety of appetizers to take back to our Airbnb in Southbury.

While waiting we both enjoyed chatting with John who explained the meaning of Il Capo while also sharing a little history of his family in Italy.

The ambience alone made our wait all that more enjoyable while sipping wine and chatting with the owner. We both look forward to dining in the next time we visit as the appetizers were delicious and unique! Especially the fried spaghetti!

I’ve heard great things about this place, so I decided to take the drive. Got a plain pie and clam casino pie. They were both great. If you like clam casino pie’s, this was one of the best I’ve had. Fresh clams, full of flavor, crispy crust on the outside soft in the middle. Really great pies. I think this place is in the conversation as one of the best pies around the Brookfield, Danbury, New Milford area.

Got pizza twice here so far, and both times everything was fantastic and top notch. Extremely impressive quality of ingredients, everything tastes right. Crust is perfect, sauce is dialed in, cheese is perfect. Highly recommend eating it asap there or in your car doing take out. You can tell there is a love for pizza and food with these guys, and it is very appreciated. Recommend the a la vodka pizza and their hot honey pepperoni pizza.

IL CAPO was a great choice for pizza today. I got a bacon and cheese to go. The smell coming from the box on my drive home was amazing. Once I arrived at my home I was treated to a flavorful slice of bacon and pepperoni. Would definitely be going back. Will eat inside because looks really good inside.

The food here is a must-try. I had never heard of deep fried spaghetti before (looks like fried mozz) and it was insanely delicious. The hot honey drizzle, wood-fire pepperoni pizza was cooked perfectly and hit the spot. Also, highly recommend the lamb skewers. John (the owner) is clearly passionate about his menu and took the time to demonstrate their upside-down tap machine. We will be back!

I Came here with my mom during their second weekend open. At first we thought they were closed since the parking lot was completely dark (the street light was apparently out), but they were open.

We dined in and ordered small plates of the fonduta and short rib arancini, and got a Capo salad to share. Though the menu said the small tapas were sized for one, our server assured us they would be fine for two—and they were perfect. The fonduta, in particular, was massive; we couldn’t finish it and even had to ask for extra bread. It originally came with cheesy crostini, but the garlic bread they brought when we asked for more was even better. Next time, I’ll ask for that from the start.

The arancini came with two large, meaty rice balls that could easily be shared by four people. I personally thought they could use a bit more cheese in the rice mix, but the flavor was still great and my mom loved them.

Surprisingly, the Capo salad ended up being the star of the meal. It was fresh, hearty, and a great portion size. It’s perfect for sharing or as a light meal. I definitely want to order it to-go for lunch in the future.

The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, though a bit dim. It’s small but I imagine most people will just be in out so that’s fine. They have a small table of interesting stuff to look at and buy while you wait such as olive oils and different seasonings. The owner chatted with us, and the staff was genuinely friendly and attentive.

We didn’t try the pizza this time but are looking forward to it. The big pizza oven looks promising, and their specialty pies sound amazing. They also offer grab-and-go slices, which is great for a quick bite.

All in all, a great experience. We’ll definitely be back to try more!

All my pizza lovers gather here! I just want to say if you love pizza like myself you need to eat IL Capos Pizza. Their Pizza will have you do the happy dance in each bite. I’m very particular when it comes to pizza b/c I’m originally from NY, and to me NY just have the best pizza in my opinion and most of us would agree, CT have some decent pizza restaurants as well, but Capos Pizza is like having pizza from NY, I don’t have to go far and it’s right at home. Their customer service is beyond superb and their Manager John is such an outstanding person. He recommended several different beverages and Italian sodas to me which I chose the lemon flavor of “A Siciliana”, which was very tasty and yes you can really taste the lemon, it’s not like sprite or the other extra sugary drinks. You will love it no disappointments. The restaurant it self definitely set the mood, and they have other food on the menu there as well to try. Beautiful restaurant, great people and amazing Pizza. Be prepared to see me there frequently!
