Unbelievably poor experience from start to finish. Staff is very uninterested and uncaring; waited a ridiculously long time for main course to be served. Food quality from a bland and unappealing salad (one that looks like it came from a bag of lettuce) to a hard and unsavory filet mignon. Large portions with no taste.
Bread (which we had to ask for – none was offered) served with some sort of butter and honey – neither had taste
All other restaurants in the area were full; now I understand why Mallebar was not.
Definitely not worth the $$$ .
And the bathroom was filthy!

Great experience.
I made a reservation for a Saturday at 5 for early dinner for 3.
When we arrived, we were attended right away. The host offered to take my coat. They have coat check!
We love the atmosphere. Very serene and the music was just right; not too loud and not too low. We were able to have a good conversation.
The service was so so nice. The ladies were very attentive making sure we had what we needed like enough water. Our waiter was very pleasant. She recommend options and made appropriate just right conversation. We also had questions about the restaurant and she was knowledgeable.
And the food!!!! It was exquisite!
We were very impressed. Everything was delicious; cooked right and the meat came as we asked to be cooked.
I found that you can find parking easy by pay parking or street parking.
The area is also beautiful to walk around.
We definitely want to go back again.

This place describes itself as serving French comfort food, and that’s exactly what we got! The service was impeccable, and also very friendly. We went on a Wednesday evening, so it was uncrowded, but we got the same attention that we imagine we would have gotten on a busy night. The food was delicious, served in a timely manner, but we were completely unhurried. The cheese board was delicious, and the other meals we got were the pork schnitzel, the Atlantic Salmon, and a couple of duck burgers. Where else can you get a duck burger? It was delicious!

I visited Mallebar for the first time tonight. I ordered escargot to start. This was my first time trying the delicacy & I’m so happy I chose to have it here. I had a Caesar salad mid meal. It was such a generous portion that I was unable to finish it as I wanted to save room for the entree & dessert. I ordered duck for my third course. This was an amazing dish. The duck was cooked perfectly and was well paired with asparagus & goat cheese. I finished with Chocolate Decadence for dessert. I ADORED this dish. My many thanks & compliments to the chef. This was a meal I wish I could experience for the first time again. No complaints whatsoever. It’s refreshing to have a meal so satisfying. Service was great & the atmosphere is comfortable. Fruit infused water was served, & I had 3 of the sparkling wines, which were also great. Highly recommend this restaurant ❤️

This place is somewhat of a hidden gem in downtown Plymouth. It’s got the look and feel of an upscale restaurant but has a more relaxed vibe. The staff are a small but mighty team who deliver an exceptional experience. I’ve been here 3 times and each time our server was Ryan, who has always done an excellent job making people feel welcomed with his hospitable attitude. He handles a lot of tables all while being personable and making great recommendations. The folks here are all passionate about the food and the dining experience and it shows.
The food itself is prepared with a lot of thought and love. Every choice about each recipe feels deliberate and well-thought. On this particular trip we enjoyed several items for a Valentine’s Day dinner. It’s a nice touch that they serve bread with a honey butter that they make. It’s dangerous to fill up on this, but it’s too good to skip.
Caesar Frites – Essentially a Caesar salad with topped with perfectly cooked fries.
Mixed Board – A combination cheese and charcuterie board packed with unique spreads such as a garlic honey crunch and a house made mortadella. This is the 2nd time we’ve ordered this and it was fairly different from the last time and in my opinion, even better than the last.
Grilled Steak Burger – One of the best burgers in town. It includes a melted raclette cheese which elevates the flavor substantially. The aioli was a great compliment to the burger as well as the fries. Every element worked in perfect harmony and makes this a staple as far as I’m concerned.
Pork Schnitzel – This fried pork cutlet pairs wonderfully with the lemon caper butter sauce to create a refreshing and intriguing combination of flavors. The potato purée was incredibly smooth and comforting. The brussel sprouts were roasted in a garlic herb butter that gave them a satisfying crunch to perfectly compliment the dish. I enjoyed this one a lot and appreciated the well thought arrangement of flavors. I’d definitely order this one again if I’m not intrigued by anything else that’s new on the menu.

Food was very mediocre. Another review said it best, everything felt like it was missing something. Ordering everything at once felt odd, as we have never done that anywhere before. Overall it was overpriced, and both the still water and soda water tasted like chlorine.

A hurray for the Take-out Pans…..12 adults and 2 children for a family holiday gathering – selected Poulet Francais and Boeuf Bourguignon for the entrees – beautifully prepared, ready for pickup, generous servings, and kindly gave time to instructing me on the reheating, as it was for the following day! Rave reviews from my guests, lots of seconds, and my appreciation for MB’s assistance with my party!!

My husband and I ate there last night. We had Caesar salad, onion soup, shrimp toast, coffee and banana cream pie with wines. The food and atmosphere were great, service was excellent except we both had diarrhea last night. Please think twice if you choose to eat there! We won’t be back!

The staff was not welcoming. Our wait person bordered on rude. She was inattentive to our party of four but was clearly treating the table of two next to us in a very different manner. The food was very bland. My dish was cool, almost cold. Pureed parsnips cold wasn’t pleasant. The cheese was breaded and fried but was greasy and not crisp. The chicken wasn’t seasoned but the cook was reasonable. The brussel sprouts were probably the best thing on the plate. Two of us chose the chicken and two chose salmon. The salmon had an over all nice cook but the skin was a little soggy. The creamy lentils were very good. Wine was fair and the dessert choices were not appealing… they were far too sweet. Nothing fresh as an end note to the meal. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment and will not return.

The food was exquisite! We basically ordered every appetizer, they were all phenomenal! Why aren’t all Caesar salads served with French fries?!?! We also got the chocolate chip cookies to go… the best decision I have ever made! Our server, Brit, was so kind and attentive. The entire experience blew my expectations away! The ambiance was so comfortable!
