Kobe of Japan has always held a special place for me. I used to come here after my orchestra concerts, and it was the perfect way to celebrate—fun, comforting, and full of great memories.
I’ve always loved the Polaroids on the wall; they give the place so much character and make it feel warm and personal, like you’re part of a long-running tradition. The chefs are consistently hilarious and incredibly talented—watching them do their food tricks and play with the ingredients is half the fun. They bring so much energy to the experience, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do.
The food never disappoints. The golden shrimp is my absolute favorite—crispy, flavorful, and something I always look forward to. And to finish it all off, the green tea mochi ice cream is excellent, a perfect balance of sweet and refreshing.
Kobe of Japan is more than just a meal—it’s an experience filled with laughter, nostalgia, and great food. Truly a place I’ll always love and highly recommend.

A great place to come celebrate or enjoy a special experience with family and friends. The staff is friendly and the hibachi chefs always make my daughter laugh. We usually get some sushi as an appetizer, steak and golden shrimp, and udon soup for the kids, and everything is always fresh and delicious. As long as they stay open, we’ll keep coming back!

We had an amazing experience at Kobe Japanese Restaurant. The chef was very fun, and had us laughing the entire night. The rest of the staff were very polite and attentive. We celebrated a birthday, and they made it extremely special. The food was delicious from the soup and salad, all the way to the main course. We enjoyed it all. Terrible Experience: I had a 6pm reservation here for a romantic Valentines Day dinner… tell me why we didn’t get our drinks an appetizers until 6:50? The chef finally began at our table at 7:20 and didn’t really interact much with my girlfriend and I. By the time she got her salmon and shrimp at 8pm, she really wasn’t that hungry anymore. The food was really bland and my girlfriend got sick later in the evening. When I alerted the manager, she was pretty dismissive and only took $11 off the bill. This place used to be great, but this was a horrendous experience, overpriced, and frankly embarrassing to take my significant other for V-Day.

While in town for a few days, I had a taste for Japanese food. I came across Kobe while running a few errands. I ordered the chicken yakisoba, which comes with soup and a salad. As usual, it tore my stomach completely up, but I enjoyed it while it lasted….lol

Kobe is always awesome. I always get the filet and lobster combination with my lobster severed ‘golden style’. Their homemade egg sauce and home made teriaki are both incredible. Ask for egg sauce on your fried rice. You’ll NEVER eat it plain again!

I’m extremely disappointed by my experience with Kobe tonight. I ordered two hibachi kids meals for dinner and sent my husband to pick up the orders for both myself and my SIL. When he came back, we realized he was given the wrong order. Not anything we could eat as we were given sushi. Since we live 20 minutes away, going back at 7:30 PM wasn’t an option. I called about this mistake and simply asked for a refund, and I was told the best they could do would be to take down my information and “give me something on the house” next time. How can I be sure that will be honored? Not even a sorry, a gift card for the amount of my meal, or any attempt at a solution. Now I’m out $40 and left without dinner.

Lunch items are best, esp. for a family. Service is good, food presentation is great, bathroom looks clean, the kitchen crew seems to be running well… I have yet to try the hibachi so depending on how that goes, I might bump it up to 5 stars, stay tuned!

Who hands their delivery driver a cold roll stacked in the same bag as a fried roll, who does that? Not anyone who knows basic food handling safety, nevermind the intricacy of serving sushi. [Edit to add] Manager agreed to refund and retrain their delivery prep worker. (Warning, the mayo they slather on their $30 lobster dragon roll does not reheat well at all, manager also suggested some order this item ‘easy on the mayo’,)
