Not bad. I’m originally from England so I can definitely say this doesn’t come close to British Fish & Chips in my opinion. The fish was pretty flavorless, but was cooked thoroughly. The batter was too thick and very greasy, not like the traditional British way of doing it. The chips didn’t taste like British chips at all. Overall I’d give the meal a 5/10. There was a small section that has an assortment of British food products. They were extremely expensive. The 3 stars are mainly for the condition of the place. The floors were incredibly sticky, the tables looked like they hadn’t been cleaned all day. Feels like the owner has given up on the place a bit.

Overall good. Would go back.
Second time me. Got the Cod. Not too fishy. Tarter sauce was good, had a hint of dill to it and normally I don’t like tarter sauce. Got the “chips” (fries) extra fried. Much better this time, but I don’t care for limp fries.
They’ve got more seating now in the adjacent suite. Malt vinegar on the tables for you to use.
Plus there is a mini convenient store with snacks and treats from across the pond. Got a chocolate pudding to try. It was recommended by and employee as one of his favorites. I have yet to try it

Very surprised actually. I’ve been disappointed at other local establishments stating they have authentic fish and chips. Well, this is authentic fish and chips. The not so good part is the mushy peas tasted like they put malt vinegar in it. Couldn’t finish them. Plus way too many chips but the cod, tasted fresh to me. Super flakey. Place was clean and the service was good. Will be back.

I wrote a nice review two years ago but this place has changed for the worse. Here’s my new review:
This used to be an awesome restaurant with authentic Fish ‘N Chips. Something has changed over the past year or two. The food has changed. I’m not sure if it’s “fresh” fish like they advertise or something frozen, but they are just little squares now. They refused to accept a Restaurant.com certificate despite still being listed. They screwed up a large order where we ordered two large, one small, and one sausage. They only gave us the two large. When we told them and they made another small fish order, it only had fries. We had to ask again for the sausage order. I’m not sure if their problems are due to the nationwide labor issues and they can’t find good help or if it’s just really poor management, but we’re not returning. One order took over an hour to get right. They charge higher prices than some of the nice sit-down restaurants in town. There are plenty of other great restaurants to choose from and get really good fish ‘n chips.

Pretty authentic British chips, bangers and battered cod – served quickly and hot in a bare bones setting. The prices are on the high side but it was worth it for the real taste of home. The place offered a fair selection of British goodies, chocolate, candies and biscuits. We came away well stocked up. We will be returning!

First time visit. Places with a limited menu do things better, and The Chippy is no exception. The Cod is absolutely delicious. Flaky, with a delicious, crispy crust. The chips are homemade and are a perfect accompaniment to the fish. Homemade tartar sauce is the best I’ve ever had. I will absolutely be back.
EDIT: Went back again. Same thing. The best.

My first visit resulted in a 55 minutes wait, a ginormous amount of fries (chips) and 2 peices of fried fish. My 2nd visit, the wait times improved dramatically to a 25 minutes wait, not so much chips and 1 large piece of fried fish (haddock). My first visit, I did not like their lack of urgency to get customers their food. Granted they had just opened, I was willing to give them another try since it was new. There was barely anything in their display case. No other options i.e baked goods, sausage items, and other English pies items. My second visit, the wait time was a lot more bearable, but still incredibly slow for a fast casual restaurant. I was expecting a over the top amount of chips like I had received during my first visit. However, the portions were more manageable. Except for what they charged you. The price, wait times, and portions do not make this a must try experience. I would only suggest that if you never had fish and chips and wanted to experience the novelty. But other than that, unless there is significant improvement in pricing, wait time, and food portions, its simply not worth it.

I want here last week and got a small cod combo (1 piece cod, fries, coleslaw, & tartare sauce) . The homemade fries are unsalted, cut perfectly, and really good. The fish was a shave over cooked but tasty and good overall. The coleslaw was fresh and cold (the only way to have it ❤) and was great! If you want a family friendly place, go here; staff was friendly and wait time to sit was fast and food service was as expected (about 10-15min but worth it). Only reason I’m rating 4 of 5 stars is because of the fish; I’m used to non-fried, soft fish. And the fish I got was cooked, but a bit to much and that make the fish chewy and stiff. Don’t get me wrong, the cod was good and still tasted like cod; but time cooked could be a little less.

I wish I could have rated higher, but the floor and tables were so dirty and sticky. The fries were oily/soggy and seemed like they’d been left in the frier for a very long time. The cod we all got was ok, but the batter was a tad more flavorless than we were expecting. I do like that the batter was thin like we experienced when we went to the UK last summer. I don’t know if they had any brown sauce/malt vinegar to go on anything, I didn’t ask. I WILL say, the tartar sauce and curry sauce are great. I wish they had fried Mars bars! They did sell regular Mars bars though. I unfortunately don’t think we’ll be back. I hope the owners take this as constructive criticism, rather than us wanting to hurt their business. A fish and chip shop is an awesome idea and there is potential. The execution just needs to be changed.

In the past, this place is wonderful for fish and chips. Today we ordered two cod 2-piece and we each had an undercooked cod. Cooked cod is bright white and the young man who has cooked fish for 11 years insisted it got to 165°F and argued with me, and made an argument in the back. He did give us one replacement fillet that WAS fully cooked. I get that things happen, but when you pay $30 for two meals I do expect them to be cooked and treated with respect. Mistakes happen. Don’t argue about making it right!
