FOOD AMAZING. Well done chefs Everyone looked neat with uniform. Mint in water is good. Came in the door no welcome or acknowledgement. Sat down, ready to order but 3 guys busy chatting at bar. Went up to ask order to be taken but still waited a couple minutes but after that service was ok. Not good communication between the team asked for order twice, tried to give our food to another table and asked if our food was ok 4 times Toilet walls very worn and only little toilet paper left and could turn their lights off to save energy but overall decent bathroom.

I tried out Vegan India recently and overall it was a pretty good experience. For starters I went with the vegan puri alo which is basically potato served inside a light puri. I really enjoyed it because the potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft but not mushy, and nicely spiced so every bite had a bit of warmth and flavour without being too heavy. It was a simple dish but done really well.

For my main I had the vegan chicken tikka masala and I was surprised by how much I liked it. The sauce was rich and creamy with a good balance of spice and sweetness, and the vegan chicken had a decent texture that worked well with it. It really felt like proper comfort food and I would definitely order it again.

I also tried the vegan chilli naan bread. It was alright but I felt like it was missing some flavour. It didn’t have much of a kick and I found myself dunking it into the mango chutney and the tikka masala sauce just to make it more exciting. Not bad but I expected more considering it was meant to be chilli naan.

For drinks I had the mango lassi but this was the weakest part of the meal. It looked the part but the taste was flat and quite bland. I was hoping for that refreshing sweet mango flavour but it just didn’t come through.

The restaurant itself is nicely done out though. It has a modern feel with a lot of green touches and plants around the place which gives it a relaxed and welcoming vibe. I really liked the look of it and it makes you want to sit down and enjoy your food at a steady pace.

Overall I would say Vegan India is worth visiting. The food has some real highlights especially the puri alo and tikka masala and the atmosphere is great. A couple of things like the naan and the lassi could be improved but it is still a good spot if you want tasty vegan Indian food in a nice setting.

Wow wow wow!!!! A vegan variety taste sensation!! Without doubt the best meal I’ve ever had. My party shared a multitude of dishes, all were beyond delicious!! So affordable too. I’m tempted to fly back from NZ just to experience this wonderful evening again! Staff were warming helpful and so friendly and the ambience was magical. The whole package. I will most definitely be back!! Yuuuum!!!

Was absolutely thrilled to see a fully vegan Indian establishment. Paneer texture was so close to the real thing, and the biryani was enjoyable.

Only criticism is that it’s a little too oily, and I felt like the flavours were not very authentic (for an Indian).

Genuinely incredible food, was blown away by the meat substitute and tofu options across their starters & mains – I highly recommend their fake lamb options. The starters I found to be more impressive than the mains, especially the lamb tandoori and chicken chat.

However – the entire dining experience was let down by very poor service and a bad atmosphere. We were ignored by wait staff even when flagging for their attention and had to routinely wait ten to fifteen minutes before being seen to on a night with maybe three other tables in; we even had to wait twenty minutes just to pay our bill. Dirty plates from appetisers and starters were left on our table for the duration of our meal so we didn’t have much space. At times we had to approach the counter to get someone’s attention and still had to wait, I should be enjoying my meal not chasing down waiters.

The atmosphere is ruined by rude & loud delivery drivers barging in all night and standing around the restaurant waiting for their orders and letting all the cold air in, is there no back door they can use or can you not bring their orders out there? Listening to them individually complain about wait times in a very small restaurant after about thirty seconds each is a massive mood killer. Several of them also taking photos and videos of customers while waiting?

No heating in the freezing weather, with the rotating door of drivers coming in and out why is the A/C on? We were absolutely freezing.

Very disappointing – like I say very very good food and highly recommended on that front (I’m sure all the takeout customers had a great meal )

The price feels reasonable for the product, but for the sub-par dining experience it feels like a kick in the teeth especially with a mandatory service charge. When similar restaurants around Bristol offer the same or more competitive pricing for a much more pleasant experience, sadly left in a bad mood when we were very excited to come here.

The food was amazing and was easily personalised so you could have each main dish with loads of protein choices or just different vegetables. I had the Madras and loved it. The portions were large so I had the leftovers a couple days later and it was just as good.

Good deal from Monday to Thursday where you can get any starter, main and bread or rice for £15. Also had a tarka Dahl on the side which was lovely and a Mango Lassi to drink which I’ve always wanted to try but being a vegan hadn’t had the chance til then

The food is good, but we had to wait 2.5 hours for our delivery order last night (we ordered at 5:45pm, to Southville). I recall a similar experience the previous time we ordered a few months ago, so it seems like it’s not a one-off. It hadn’t been a problem before, so perhaps the delivery arrangements should be put back how they were, or the delivery apps’ drivers be used – we’d pay a bit more for reasonably quick service.

Had wonderful food with family. Not all the party vegan, but it didn’t matter.
My fave was lamb biryani. I asked if I could change up to a tikka sauce and it was no problem. The best tikka sauce I ever had.
I would highly recommend.

Interesting interior, relaxing atmosphere.
Nice food, was pleasantly surprised by my first vegan curry experience. A little more expensive for food and drinks than expected, but probably on a par with most city centre based restaurants.

Indian food is probably my favourite and I have been vegan for many years. In this establishment, both these truths converged into the finest dining experience I have had in years.
My compliments to the chef whose skills are a wonder, and to the waiting staff whose service was a delight.
Thank you all.
