Fort 88 stems from ideas and inspiration of all our favorite people. Solid business is not built by one person but a culmination of people with different strengths and I picked the very best. Our food is sourced locally and seasonally as we believe the richest flavor comes from the fields and gardens of people that are passionate about what they do. Picked at the peak of each season our ever changing menu will ensure your food is never bland, never dull and perfectly prepared.

Wonderful lunch! Very knowledgeable about gluten free foods. Chef used separate kitchen items and new gloves to prepare our meal. Even cautioned us that bacon was not GF so didn’t put on our appetizer. Chose no bun but offered GF bun. Fries were delicious in a designated GF fryer.

We (05) stopped by for brunch on Saturday. They had a decent brunch menu. The atmosphere was great, our waiter, she was super.
We sat near the kitchen and had the privilege to see every dish come out. Fantastic.
The restrooms were big and spacious, and clean.
Pretty place, not small, not big. It looks like a garage from inside.

So, overall not a great first experience for me here. I called ahead about 40 minutes to try to make a reservation (understanding that isn’t a lot of time). I am told they’ll hold two seats at the bar, if they open up before I get there. After arriving we get sat outside in the heated “tent”. It was so hot I felt like I was getting a sunburn on my face, yet my legs and feet were freezing. So moving on from that, the brussel sprout appetizer was delicious. The overpriced burger and fries were mediocre. The service was okay. Although, they took a different couple inside to sit at the bar that arrived after us so that was frustrating. I probably won’t come back, but it has the potential to be good, just a bad overall “valentine’s date” for this mom and dad.

Dinner for two… last minute decision to drive to Upper for dinner at Fort 88. We arrived at 840pm, and they close at 10pm. We were met promptly and seated with smiles and gusto. We ordered: the crab rangoon dip, smoked wings, tacos, mac & cheese, and the meatloaf sandwich entrée to share. Let me say, we could have (and maybe we did ) pick that bowl clean. Good god… that dip with the homeade chips… PERFECTION!!!! The meatloaf sandwich, we weren’t expecting much, so not sure if it was an under promise, over deliver situation… or it really was so good that no crumbs were left… either way – it was so good that it had us questioning why people go to Cap City for meatloaf at all. We got a couple of the seasonal mixed drinks – the $5 buckeye martini was a perfect nightcap… while my fiancé does not drink alcohol had the N/A Apple Smash.
We’re on our journey of ONLY having date night at non-chain restaurants with N/A drink options… this one is a solid 5/5

What a neat place. Our 1st time here, we came over to check out a wedding venue and this place was recommended for lunch. We came in and was able to sit down right away. The menu is simple, the atmosphere is quaint with a touch of modern. The food is delicious and the server makes it fun and keeps it light. I would recommend this place when visiting Upper Sandusky. Fort 88 is a great place. We ordered the Fort 88 burgers, delicious, and fries with homemade ketchup, outstanding.

I went to Fort 88 for brunch. The wait was long, but it was during peak hours, so I understand why it was. The wait was worth it, however.
They were put of biscuits and gravy, but the eggs benedict was . Highly recommended.
The atmosphere was nice as well. Perfect for an outing with friends or family. I’ll come back if I’m in the area!

Loved this spot! We came around 2 on a Saturday and were immediately greeted and seated. We sat on the patio where there’s a couple tables and a lounge couch for some cocktails. Our server, Allison, was more than helpful on the menu items. We got a cider and a cocktail, both of which were delicious. Allison recommended the shishito peppers which was a great choice. I got the burger of the month which was a Hawaiian burger with pineapple, cheddar, bbq, ham with the 4 cheese mac and cheese and my boyfriend got the Cubano with green beans. Every bite was better than the last. Would recommend to anyone for a wonderful experience and amazing food!

Absolutely amazing time. Special menu for Valentine’s Day was phenomenal. The atmosphere allowed for a beautiful dinner on the Patio. The staff were all friendly and attentive not just our server but anyone we encountered. We stopped on a whim but will be back for sure!

This is truly one of our favorite places to go for any occasion. Date night, brunch with friends, anniversaries, we’ve never had a bad meal. In fact, the first time we went my husband had had a very long and difficult day at work; he got the pork chop and said it made him feel human again.

First time there. Excellent food. The menu has a mix of unique and standard fare. We had the whipped feta for an appetizer and it was delicious. We had the Fort 88 burger and it was excellent…one of the tastiest smash burgers I have had. We had the roasted brussel sprouts with it and they were great as well. We finished with the chocolate cake and it was the perfect ending bWe recommend everything we had. We will be back! They had a good beer selection and had 2 ciders as well which I appreciate.
