Food is good if you don’t mind a side of bugs in your food. I found multiple beetles (look like spider beetles) in my sushi. This was my favorite local sushi spot and we won’t be eating here anymore.

While working in Anderson, I wanted some Asian food and found this little place. Walked in and it’s a little American dinner converted. Ordered the salad and hibachi scallops. Wow!!! Look at the size of the scallops ! They are great size and there were 7 of them with fried rice and vegetables . It was great for the price!!! Food cooked perfectly! It was delicious!!! my waiter was super polite and helpful!

I don’t know what I expected but it wasn’t THIS divine culinary experience in the middle of Anderson Indiana! We tried several rolls, salmon hibachi, calamari, and boom boom chicken. I am sure I’ll sleep for a month – the food was cooked so the outside had a nice crunch, the inside was tender, and the salmon MELTED in my mouth. I could probably drink a cup of the boom boom sauce! There were so many levels to the flavor and texture, the portions are so generous, and the staff is so genuine and kind. Don’t sleep on this place!

I was not expecting much for Anderson but truly this was excellent! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted. The customer service was excellent. My food was ready on time. The bang bang shrimp has big shrimp and not just little pieces. The rolls are good size and filling. We will be back to try more! They even labeled the sushi which was great.

This was our first visit, and we look forward to going back soon. My son enjoyed his Chicken Fried Rice entree so much that he devoured it. Mybwife and I ordered the Tornado, Red Hot Dragon, and Indiana sushi rolls. We enjoyed how flavorful and fresh they were. The Red Hot Dragon was crispy and crunchy from the Shrimp Tempura and full of flavor. The crunchiness from the Tempura coating added another level of flavor to the sushi roll. The Tornado Roll’s exterior coating added a nice crunch, and the cream cheese added a creaminess that was quite appealing to my palate. I liked the Indiana Roll, especially the freshness of the cucumber, that cut through the rich flavors. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Let’s start with the room, because you feel it before you taste anything. This place looks like it never quite escaped the late 1980s lunch-counter era of small-town Indiana. I am not asking for bamboo, a zen garden,
calligraphy, or some theme-park version of Japan. But at these prices, I want to feel like someone cared enough to set a mood. Right now, it feels like an afterthought.
The food itself is better than the room deserves. The sushi is solid. No fireworks, but competently done. The main dishes hold up just fine. The ramen broth, in particular, is respectable. It tastes like it was actually made by someone, not poured out of a box and reheated. That matters.
My one real gripe is the egg in the ramen. It was boiled to death. Anyone who loves ramen knows that egg is not a garnish, it is a promise. You want that deep orange yolk, barely set, ready to melt into the broth. This one was cooked through and through. Disappointing but not catastrophic. The squid balls were a let down. They were undercooked and dough in the ce ter
So here is the bottom line. The food is tasty, the prices land in the mid range, and you will probably leave satisfied. But the atmosphere needs work. Right now, the cooking is doing more than its fair share of the heavy lifting. With a little attention to the space, this place could justify what it is charging.
you can tell this place leans more Chinese-owned than Korean, because if it were Korean, they’d probably deck it out to whisk you straight to Tokyo (or at least try!). Instead, you’ve got that endearing no-frills vibe that says, “We’re here for the food, not the frills.” The only thing missing was a chinese 8 year old kid in the corner doing math homework.

I’ll tell you…. IF YOU HAVEN’T…. why are you waiting…. The food is heaven. The calamari sticks were crispy hot (heat) and our plates…. Well take a look… OAN these are NOT ya salad shrimp either…. Check it out… The service itself is OUTSTANDING!!!!

I wasn’t planning on leave a review, but after I got the food and took maybe two bits I couldn’t not leave a review. I will have to go again and get better pictures, but this place is a true dimond in the rough. What I mean by that is if you were to drive by you would think probably not a good place to eat and walking in has a gash station dinner kind of feel, but when they bring you that food and you take one bit your eyes are opened to 5 star dining!! There is other Japanese Stakehouses I have been to that have much more appealing restaurants, but the food is not worth the price they want to charge. This place has food that I almost feel they could get away with charging more for. Highly recommend you go and check them out, if you don’t like the environment just get it to go because the food is where it’s at with Somo Go!!!
