My favourite New York haunt. One of the most iconic spots in the city, with beautiful art and decor and so much history. The drinks here are excellent, the Dukes martini is a faithful replica of the original and will have you flying. I love the martini oysters. Such a good place to stop for a drink and people watch. Not cheap… but it’s New York, what do you expect.

I had the pleasure I sitting at the world famous Lobby Bar at The Chelsea Hotel. While I was there I shared drinks and stories with Dustin (the Diamond) and Cory (worthy of the glory). The Chelsea has so much history that it can be tasted in the cocktails. In talking to these guys you can hear the years of experience and the passion they have for hospitality and cocktails. I know The Chelsea has a few other bars in its halls and I hope to visit them all. If the rest are half as good as The Lobby Bar then its going to be an amazing adventure.

Here’s what I had:

15 Minutes of Fame – This citrusy cocktail mixes tequila, rhum, mango brandy with guava and a rosato aperitivo all washed through whey for a silky smooth texture and flavor. Washed just enough to make it smooth without taking the personality from the spirits.

Edie 67 -If you get this drink ask about Edie Sedgwick for the extra appreciation of the cocktails design. Good Lord, so much flavor. This taste like it came right out of a Big Green Egg or a Komodo Joe. Slightly spicy, quite smoky and a bit fruity. This is an amazing drink. Also when you get a chance look up Edie Sedgwick. Shes the inspiration for this cocktail and her story is amazing. Mezcal, Lapsang Tea, Mezcal, gochujang honey with a bit of raspberry this all works together so well.

Viva Superstar- Gin, Cachaca, passion fruit, whey blanc de blanc. Silk smooth milk punch but not bland or quite. The addition of the Blanc Champagne takes this cocktail into French 75 and Porn Star Martini spaces. Delicious and refreshing. Very well done and well prevented.

Hundredth Universe – This is a great starter cocktail or a great ender cocktail (until the next spot for me). Its basically a mango high ball with great texture. This screams flavor. It straddles the line between high ball and Collins. Delicious and an easy go to for the non-adventurous.

The 1884 Martini- Bone chilling cold and the essence of orange. This is one of those drinks that classic for a reason. Gin martinis with blanc vermouth is top tier.

Expensive but a nice, intimate, romantic vibe. Good for one drink.
Mezcal old fashioned was great and a good martini with yummy olives.

The lobby bar at The Hotel Chelsea is absolutely stunning. The space itself is beautiful, and the bartenders are true professionals. Louis, Cory, and Dustin are a few of the wonderful staff members I’ve interacted with, and they’re always so friendly. I’ve visited several times and consistently have a great experience. While it’s a bit on the pricier side, it’s definitely worth it. I had my first full meal there yesterday, and it was fantastic. The burger was perfect. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, it’s still worth stopping by for a cocktail.

Good cocktail. Bartenders were nice. Good bar to sit and have a cocktail by the bar. A bit crowded from 6pm and on. Many people comes in groups. Average price for a cocktail $25. There’s a wait for groups.

This bar is such a fun and casually elegant spot. Drinks are excellent — the Two Dylans and the Viva Superstar are my favorites. Also, the staff is just the best. They are amazingly attentive, super friendly and also give great recommendations. Heads up that it will get packed during weekends and peak hours, but this place is also the perfect type of spot that you can hit up on a slower Monday or Tuesday night and still have a good time.

Very neat spot, the bar and seating area are gorgeous. Service was very good. My only complaint is the high cost of drinks, even by NYC standards. Cocktails started at $25 and a shot was $20. It was a good experience and I’m glad we checked it out but we won’t return purely due to the prices.

Our bartender Dustin was so sweet! He recommended drinks for us and made sure to get us what would match our palette. I loved the drink I had but my favorite was the margerita

After-work cocktails at the Lobby Bar at the Hotel Chelsea was a transportive experience. Stepping into the grandiose lobby made us feel like we had stepped into a European castle. We could feel the history of past notable guests – oh if these walls could talk!

Excellent classic and innovative cocktails on the menu, great service, plenty of places to sit, super buzzy vibes. We did walk-in and waited 10-15 minutes to get a seat, but we went early around 6pm. You can also make a reservation for a table.

The acoustics were pretty loud but we didn’t help that 🙂 very kind front of house and table service staff, the cost was high and since it’s been a few years since I’ve been to Manhattan, the $25 cocktail minimum price was a little sticker shock. Oysters were good but not wow worthy and the fries were crispy-licious. Cheese plate was good. Overall fun experience as welcome back to NY drinks.
