So much we could say about this place, and all of it is good. An absolute gem and the location is prime. The staff was always visible, working as a team, and a joy to interact with. We had a great conversation with the owner, Johnny Cabo. The Funky Olive was the only spot that served actual chips-n-salsa during our whole trip. The only restaurant that delivered quality food with the price being perfect (I could say a lot about the price gouging we found throughout Cabo)
We got down on a double smash burger that was juicy, huge, and good to the end. 3 street tacos & 2 sushi rolls(trolls & the funky trolls) that were amazing, and we love us some sushi. Finding their sushi menu deliver the quality was an unexpected bonus.
If you’re in and around the marina in Cabo, we highly recommend stopping in, saying high, and getting funky at the Funky Olive.

Another update lol…!!!
For the record the Philly Cheese Steak is very good also looking forward to some of the new add ons to the New Menu coming soon ( like the Chicken Parm )
The food was so good that we went back another three times. We ate in twice and did take out twice since we live above and just come down and order, have a Cerveza while waiting and talk with everyone there.
By the way you definitely have to have the Shrimp Burger, it’s simply amazing and outstanding. Can’t even explain the flavor on those. First time in I had the single smash Burger ( amazing ) second time and the third time the Shrimp Burger ( amazing & incredible ) and fourth the Double Funk Smash Burger ( outstanding ) my brother finally had the Sushi and he loved it because it was so different with the Funky Olive Twist to it
Definitely don’t hesitate to go to the Funky Olive you simply won’t be disappointed whatsoever
We’ve been walking by The Funky Olive for years and years. And would always check on social media like Facebook and so on, and there was never anything updated or even what they were about.
Well the past year or so we’ve noticed how often they’ve been posting on Facebook, and all the other local Cabo sites.
And figured it definitely has to be New Owners ( indeed it is ) figured Johnny Cabo had to be one of them ( correct there as well lol )
Anyways after all these years we FINALLY stopped in and had dinner. And sure as heck glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing, and the Service was outstanding ( Gabriela ) was our server and she was simply amazing and very attentive.
I had the Funk Smash Burger I know I know a burger in Cabo, but darn it was good. I got the Burger because I heard from so many people how good they are, and they most definitely were right.
My brother had the Funky Ceviche and he absolutely loved it and I had a taste as well and it was very good. He was looking forward to having some Sushi, but there wasn’t any available that evening. But we will definitely be walking by again, and will ask if sushi is available this evening, and Boom will be in.
So definitely don’t hesitate and walk by The Funky Olive as you won’t be disappointed whatsoever. Great food and even better friendly amazing service.
Not to mention for a place being in the heart of the Marina, we thought the prices were fair.

The food is great. We ordered corn ribs without spice and they were very accommodating. Super attentive staff and the owner Johnny was right there to thank us for coming in. Nice guy from Chicago and we loved the food! Double smash burger was AWESOME!! We will be back before we leave town.

My husband and I have been in Cabo since January 8th. We leave in the early am tomorrow. We had to have our last dinner at our favorite place. The fish-n- chips, as usual were spot on! My husband had the black pastor taco. They were fantastic as well! We will see you in January of 2027! Stay safe!

I had the hamburger with cheddar cheese and bacon—absolutely excellent. The fries were hot, fresh, and perfectly crispy. I also enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay while taking in a beautiful view of the marina. Can’t ask for more. We’ll definitely be back!
