We had mixed feelings about this restaurant. We thought some dishes were very good and some dishes were extremely lacking. I thought the beer was pretty good. I love the atmosphere. The fried chicken was very good but why are they charging two dollars much dollars more to get mac & cheese with it? some dishes were just out of reach for just a quick night out. A lot of the dishes were over $25. There is a happy hour, but it is limited.

Fabulous rooftop view, good food, and super stylish decor – recommend a try! At the urging of friends who recently went to Bolo’s Eatery, a group of us went early on a Sunday to try it out. This place has really great potential – with great variety. Most of what we had was upscale bar food, but the menu has enticing offerings for a nice dinner outing. The brewery options are pretty varied too – for a $14 flight of little sips I got to try five brews. I have already learned I don’t prefer craft beers with lots of extra unusual flavors, but if you feel adventurous you can have a brew with tea, botanicals, and other adds. There’s also adult seltzer, cider, and mead – my favorite of those was the blackberry cider – nice fruit and not too sweet. Do not quite understand why the flights is in the “To Go” section of the brew menu, however.

The food was good – the fried chicken and chicken tenders and sauce choices were all spot-on, side dishes were great. I need to learn more about the corn bread…this restaurant is part of the Lindsey Group that has other southern-style offerings that now I would love to try in downtown Richmond and around the suburbs.

The atmosphere was great – the decor is impressive and cohesive, and the music background was a chill club sound – I only put 4 stars because it was very quiet on Sunday at 1 pm and we were looking for a little more lively place. I also think that the game area felt neglected – everything was there for the shuffleboard and pool, but there was some random packing materials laying around – made it feel like they just opened the space up and weren’t quite done putting everything out. Maybe had a wild Saturday night before? I hope so – would love to return and see the place full! The rooftop also looks great – but the staff could not tell us

It was our first time going here. We went after work, wanted to try a new place. It’s cute inside nice aesthetics. It was happy hour but it wasn’t giving really. The drinks was ok, the server gave me a drink that she hadn’t rinsed out the mixing cup and I let her know it had a funny taste . We ordered the oysters but wasn’t made aware that it’s a different price for the cooked ones vs the raw. Should be updated on the menu! Honestly, our food wasn’t that good, definitely could’ve been better .

I’ll start off by saying it was a very nice atmosphere, but I came for the food, which was VERY DISAPPOINTING. I got the fish and chips with a side of mac. The Mac and cheese was dry, cold and not one spec of seasoning. The food literally took over an hour to get to us and there was no one other than two guys at the bar. Which should have been a red flag from the beginning. The waiter was nice. She told us there was only one cook working…Please find another one. She comped us six dollars off a $74 bill for a fish and chips and a bacon cheeseburger meal. I did get a Valentine’s Day drink, which was very good and would be the absolute ONLY reason I would ever come back to this establishment would be for a drink.

The crab cakes were great. The chicken was tender and juicy, while I wasn’t a fan of the waffle that seem to have a gritty texture. The service was good and they have some games up stairs like a pool table. I plan to come back here when it’s warmer to possibly dine on their rooftop.

We are so excited to have a new restaurant in the neighborhood and could not be more impressed! Bolo’s is incredible! The menu has everything you’re looking for — perfect for happy hour or date night. We started with the cauliflower wings with the Asian sauce, at the recommendation of our waiter Chris, (shoutout Chris he rocks!!)
The sauce was tangy and delicious. Next we shared the Oysters Blackwell, a creative and delicious take on Oysters Rockefeller and ode to the neighborhood! Finally we had the Big Mike burger with fries. 12/10 recommend. We also had their beer, which is brewed in house, the Pumpkin Ale was my favorite!! You have to check this place out!

I did not like the fried oysters (not they fault) the breading on the fish was not good so the fish wasn’t really seasoned, onion rings was ok, I ended up ordering truffle fries and they were delicious. Best thing since sliced bread. My sister order the same and her only complaint was the fish batter as well. She like the rest of the platter. My other sister ordered the fried chicken meal with greens and mac and she loved it. Our friend ordered fish and grits and she didn’t like it for several reason including the fish batter and the creole seasoning on the grits to watery or not really flavourful. She was given a chance to order something else and she got the other chicken and waffles and she said that was delicious. Our waiter was the bartender (he was great with his handsome self). He made sure we were well taken care of! And I drinks were great too!!! All and all it was good enough that I’d be willing to come back and give the food another try!!!

We’ve been to Bolo’s twice and loved the food. Brandon was our server and he was attentive and polite.

Chicken is on point, collards were legit and the beer is good. We are excited to try the rooftop when the weather improves. Manchester needs a place like Bolo’s

Don’t eat here. The food is overpriced and nasty. It also STINKS in the restaurant. You walk in and the first thing you smell is like an old mop water-like scent

Ate there in person once and was disappointed. I decided to give it another chance today after a couple months and it hasn’t gotten better. I waited over 30 mins for a pick up online order. The eta was 2:15 pm, only for us to not get our food until 2:47pm

The steak frites menu time I ordered was a joke. Wayyyyy overdone (it was ordered medium-well) and the fries tasted nothing like they truffle fries they said it was on the menu. The mac and cheese was dry and under seasoned. The pimento cheese balls were extremely oily

If this places lasts another year it will be a miracle. Won’t be returning

I was there for an event on the rooftop so I cant truly speak about the inside of the restaurant but im certain the staff is just as attentive & friendly as the ones upstairs! The food was great- seasoned well & everything came out hot. Drinks were on point! Our bartender Eric was excellent.
