Warm family atmosphere with fresh, appealing food. Staff is very professional and service is excellent. Wide range of options from a takeout sandwich, or soups, sauces and many choices for an elegant delicious lunch or dinner. Choices range from entrees to salads and side dishes, with a choice of Italian groceries, oils and condiments to cookies and fresh fruits and vegetables. I’ve always left highly satisfied, and my family loves their food!

I needed to arrange a last-minute birthday party, and called Italian Meateria. They were great–thoughtful, helpful, attentive–and the food was fantastic. This is dateline daytime on right

I highly recommend them!

Over the years, we’ve visited when we wanted a nice sandwich. Not a great sandwich or a behemoth of sandwich. A nice sandwich. Overpriced, yes but I’m sure the rent in Wykagyl is not cheap. Nonetheless, never a first choice.

Today, my wife got an attitude from ‘the shorter guy’ and, in today’s world, there’s no room for attitude. She then explained that this was a regular occurance. The ‘taller guy’ was nicer but not great either.

When you’re not the best or the cheapest, customer service and kindness is all you have to rely on. Maybe convenience too but that doesn’t matter now. We’ll be shopping elsewhere.

$12.99 / lb for Italian sausages? I don’t care how good they are, that price is outrageous! Far higher than any other Italian pork store that I’ve been to in the Bronx or Brooklyn, higher than Whole Foods Market, higher than Balducci’s, Citarella, DeCicco and anywhere else I’ve been to. I know prices have increased, but NOT that much! Sorry, never again will I shop there.

Not great. I try to hit a different Italian deli as I drive out of the city back to CT for work a couple of days a week up in the Westchester area. This was my first venture to this establishment, and after getting attitude from the guy who was making my sandwich because I wanted a little bit of mayonnaise put on it, he then forgot to put the roasted red peppers that were supposed to be on this particular sandwich that he explained made the mayo unnecessary. Overly expensive, small portions, incorrect order and attitude…not a good combination. I’ll pass and continue to go to Insalata Pomidoro in Armonk.

For the best dried meats, mozzarella, and sauce.

A few shelves lined with specialty olive oils, pastas, and canned tuna and a small area behind the register filled with produce harken back to the original concept for the 1,000-square-foot Quaker Ridge Shopping Center space that owners (and brothers) David and Michael Zingone had for the Italian Meateria. “We set it up as a grocery/fruit/meat market” says Michael, “but we soon realized that many customers were not cooking often and instead wanted prepared foods.”

And prepare they do, with many dishes based on Grandma Michelle’s recipes, including a cold case full of takeout homemade soups (beef barley, chicken meatball, split pea); meal-portioned heat-and-eat trays of Italian-American classics (eggplant Parm, meatballs); and a knock-your-socks-off marinara sauce. The deli counter has its own must-try items, including the coleslaw with broccoli, carrots, and cranberries (there are more than 20 house-made prepared salads); sandwiches made on Terranova bread; and a hot lunch station with dishes such as apricot chicken and pork chops with vinegar peppers.

While the cooking public may have declined, it’s certainly not dead. Thus the Zingone brothers offer prime meats cut to order (beef brisket, whole prime ribs) from Master Purveyors in the Bronx. “Our father Gennaro owned Four Star Meat Market in the Bronx from the 1950s to 1996,” says Michael. “It’s our legacy to always sell meats.”

Don’t Miss: chicken marsala, meat lasagna, house-made mozzarella, marinara sauce, tuna salad, coleslaw, roasted peppers, Thanksgiving specialty sandwich or beef brisket sandwich, Italian wedding soup.

Don’t go here expecting to get a decent sandwich it’s more bread than anything and little to no meat topped off with bad customer service.I would more recommend going to one of the other spots next door instead.I payed around 8 bucks for a sandwich with three thin slices of turkey on it.Definitely not coming here

I travel 25 minutes to Italian Meateria. You won’t find better prepared food options, catering and sandwiches anywhere in Westchester.

I go here every chance I get for lunch. I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of their sandwiches.
