What a great place! My wife & I drove up from Gilbert because we hadn’t been to Kearny. We sat at the bar, and Lucinda treated us like family; the service was prompt and warm. Javier was meticulous in checking the cooking oils for soy — wife has an allergy — and they couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful.
The food was fantastic. The shredded beef tacos had twice the meat that every other place has, and they were cooked perfectly. The refried beans were savory and delicious — I think they might have been peruano, which is exciting.
We’ll be back to Kearny, and to G.J., as soon as we can.

GJ Restaurant Bar & Grill was fantastic. One of the most delicious, massive burros I’ve ever had—great value and flavor. Chips and salsa were excellent. We had a large group and they accommodated us perfectly after a call ahead. Great service, great food. Love me some burros!

It’s always a pleasure to eat at G&J’s. The atmosphere is nice, the staff are friendly, and the food is always hot and tasteful. The only thing is…. you can’t be in a hurry.

I would give a much higher review if the server hadn’t gone off on one of our party for not eating the tomato and lettuce on their hamburger. She claimed her raise depended on it. Sorry made no sense to me seeing we paid for the food. I will say the service was great up until that point. The food as always was delicious.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover !! This place is fantastic ! The outside looks like a bunker but once you enter you will feel right at home and the service is really good and the food is really great ! We took a Swiss burger,, it had roasted ognon and roasted mushrooms salad tomatoes and pickles !! me and my wife will be back

Picked up a delicious Super Nacho. So good! Choice of carne asada or ground beef, with pico, nacho cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Serving is huge!
