Don’t judge this place by it’s location. At the end of a dead end road, surrounded by residential homes, this kitchen boasts some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered we enjoyed. And we will again make the trip from Green Bay Area just for this amazing food!

First time in to Newch’s and it didn’t disappoint! The buns on the bao were so soft and fluffy, pork was nice and tender. The orange chicken was one of the best I’ve ever had. The outside was so crispy and the inside was perfectly cooked and tender. Really enjoyed the pad Thai as well. 5/5 all around.

Great Thai Food!
Just a short jaunt from downtown Newch’s is your classic sports bar with an AMAZING Thai menu!
The chicken avocado egg rolls were a huge hit with my husband, and I loved the fresh rolls and how they used a lot of Thai basil. The pho was delightful on a cold January day; definitely our favorite part!

We love supporting small businesses. This restaurant was recommended on a FB post of spots to eat in Wausau. We visited on a Thursday evening. Our hungry little family began to order. We ordered short ribs. We were told that they are out. We ordered the chicken curry. They were out. How about the grilled pork? They were also out. Either, they were super busy before 7pm on this night or didn’t plan on serving those dishes (see pictures of the ambiences). We settled for the Thai Boat Noodles (sub-par) and Muscle Stir Fry. We also got the Khao Man Gai, fried wings with house sauce, house fried rice, crispy pork belly, meatball appitizer, Summer Shady and Mango Cart beer. IMO, the only good thing was the 2 beers. If you are traveling for great SE Asian food, get back in your car and drive 2.5 hours west. If you are a local who wants good Asian food, this is the spot. For us, it missed the mark.

Always a great pleasure to eat here. The food is some of the best in the area! The service is always friendly. One of the best places in the area to get authentic Thai flavors.

Heard about this place and wanted to try it out since we were in town. We ordered the chicken pad see ew, house sauce chicken wings, cucumber Salad, pad thai, and short ribs. The Short ribs was probably our best dish we had. It was caramelized perfectly. Pad thai is always a hit or miss at asian restaurants. Although, I didn’t try my friend’s pad thai; it didn’t look appealing to eat. We did order the banh mi sandwiches to go. My friend ate it and said it was really good! I gave this place two stars because we waited about 30 mins for appetizers and almost an hour for our main entrees. Overall the food was decent.

What a hidden gem! We were in town for a sporting event and after a full day of chips and hotdogs we wanted some Asian food. We picked the closest spot to the high school and didn’t even bother reading reviews. At first you feel like you are in a residential area and then end up at the bar/restaurant. We were promptly seated and attended to. The food came pretty quick! Everything we had was fantastic! It’s been a couple of months and we still talk about them! If you are in the area this is a must stop! The bao buns were are absolute favorite but everything else was delicious too. We ordered, spring rolls, bao buns, pho, pork belly, raw laab. We will definitely stop again! We were clearly hungry because we devoured our appetizers and most of our dishes before getting pictures.

We’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile after hearing great reviews from friends, and it certainly lived up to the hype! We loved the Bao Buns, Traditional Bahn Mi, Pad See Ew, Short Ribs, and Pho. We can’t wait to try more. This is definitely a new favorite spot and will be our go-to take out place in Wausau!

Definitely a hidden gem. The bar tender and Newch were very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, had the Pho, Spring Rolls, and Bao Buns – all was great but we especially enjoyed the Bao. We will definitely be back. Great experience overall.

Pad Thai was excellent! I got it with shrimp for an extra charge, but there was even more shrimp hidden under the noodles. I ordered it spicy (instead of medium) and somewhat underestimated Midwestern spice level because it came a bit hotter than I expected – but it was great! Not my favorite pad Thai sauce flavor, but maybe only missing some extra shallot and maybe more fish sauce? I’ve only experimented with making it a couple times and it’s very hard to get it just right (and I suppose everyone has their own taste), but compliments to the chef because it was much better than many I have tried! The Thai Tea was a great bonus and completed the spicy meal very well. Will definitely eat here again if traveling through. My server, Paji, did everything she was supposed to and was giving very prompt service to all guests as they arrived. Very good at her job – she is a keeper!
