My favorite Indian place. I go there usually twice a week. She has standard menu throughout week. Only open during lunch on workweek. A lot of options for vegans and vegetarians. Regular or spicy chicken options are great too. Homemade meal for $$ in downtown. Very reasonable prices. If you like Indian food, I highly recommend.

Everything is fresh and well seasoned. Wonderful selection of vegetarian and vegan options, the meats are also delicious. I don’t get and chance to go here often, but I go anytime I’m in the are!

wanted some filling and comforting indian food, and this was it. it was really difficult to find good vegetarian options around the area but this one is a great and reliable option to get some hearty lunch. we had masala potato, vegetable kofta, chickpea and potato and tomato dal. good quantities, delicious and affordable.

Delicious authentic food. The owner is always working and is very kind. There is a reason why Srees is so popular. Plus they have cling wrap and utensils ready to go so you can easily take the food to go.

I try to hit this up whenever I’m doing a weekday downtown walkabout. If I worked downtown I would be a much more frequent guest! It’s very affordable, very portable and great flavors for anyone who loves Indian food. Usually I takeout and eat in on the bench by the river about a block away. When I’ve had company with me, we’ve eaten in but really this atmosphere is pretty sterile– this is mainly a takeout place. If you’re driving, the parking is pretty nonexistent most of the time but there are places you can pull over for a minute and service is fast if you feel lucky and don’t have someone to stay with the car. Really the only downside is that– as of this writing anyway– Sree’s is only open for weekday lunch.

A delicious, quick, and affordable lunch! Perfect for folks visiting for a conference only a short walk away from the conference center. I got the biryani lunch special. Everything was perfect

Home style Indian. Served like a canteen so if you come earlier the food is much fresher.

Items are hit or miss but I recommend coming back for a different menu. Their hot sauce is fantastic and makes everything taste good.

Price and service are good. Portion size is good for lunch. “Bread” is a rip off, do not pay for it.

If you want something Indian for a lunch break this is serviceable (and about all you have in downtown).

Really good food, feels like a home cooked meal 🙂 I’m not from Pittsburgh so I can say this without affecting myself but I honestly feel like they should charge maybe 10-20% more. It would still be good value and they seem to be working hard so think they deserve it.

Very good Indian food. I got the chicken, vegetable, rice, and bread lunch special. The chicken hyderabadi was just falling apart and spiced perfectly. The chickpeas and potatoes were so flavorful, and the rice tied it all together.

My first visit, and Sree’s Food is a great place for lunch. It’s no thrills, get in, eat, and get out. The owner has a multitude of Veggie options and two meat options, spicy or not spicy. View their online menu for the special of the day. I had a spicy chicken dish, side of green beans, rice, and they give you 1/2 a flour tortilla for bread. I don’t hold the tortilla against them becausae they don’t have tandori oven. And after I ate my lunch, I splurged on a dosa because I’m a little piggy. That dosa was out of this world and will be first choice upon my return.
