My friend and I annoyed our visit to City Kitchen so much! Luke was a very helpful and attentive server. He gave us great recommendations, which didn’t disappoint. City Kitchen puts a great spin on classics like shrimp and grits, pork tacos and a cheesecake fudge brownie. We enjoyed every morsel while being soothed by the relaxing music. I’d highly recommend making a reservation early to have lovely culinary experience at City Kitchen.

This place was a top dining experience on a recent weekend getaway to Beaufort. My husband and I were deciding between a few fine dining options, and after some research settled on CK. So glad we did! The restaurant itself is lovely, service is excellent. And the food: incredible. The house ciabatta with rosemary infused oil was a great start. The beet salad was a generous portion and tasty. But the entrees stole the show! I got the airline chicken (which I normally wouldn’t pick, but had seen rave reviews for it online) and it was out of this world. Coconutty, spicy, flavorful, succulent. I’ll be thinking about it for weeks!! My husband got the fish cakes, also excellent! Another dish with great execution and sauces that elevated the fish to another level. Sticky toffee pudding is not to be missed for dessert. It was raining the day we went, so tiki bar was closed, but we’ll definitely be back on our next trip!!

I have been dining at City Kitchen for over five years and have easily been here more than one hundred times. And I can honestly say that every single visit feels better than the last.

From the moment you walk in, the experience is exceptional. By my second visit, the hostess already knew my name. That level of recognition and warmth is something you usually only experience in exclusive environments, yet here it feels genuine and effortless. You are not treated like a transaction. You are treated like a valued guest.

You are guided thoughtfully to the table you want, never rushed, never overlooked. The attention to detail starts immediately. Then come the specials, which are always exciting, creative, and beautifully described. Somehow, no matter how many times I return, the menu continues to surprise me.

As someone who considers himself a serious food critic, this is what truly sets City Kitchen apart. I should not be able to come back to the same restaurant over and over and still feel like it is my first experience. Yet that is exactly what happens here. The menu evolves, the ingredients stay fresh, and the execution is flawless every time.

The consistency is almost unbelievable. After more than one hundred visits, I have never had a bad dish. It honestly feels as though no one in the kitchen has ever had a bad day. Every plate arrives intentional, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented.

The flavors are incredible. Each ingredient stands out while still working together in perfect balance. Nothing is overpowering, nothing is wasted. The salmon is absolutely outstanding and consistently one of the best dishes I have ever had anywhere in the world. The presentation is stunning, and every bite reminds you why this place is special.

And then there is the atmosphere, which completes the experience. The setting is elegant without being pretentious. Warm lighting, a relaxed energy, and an environment that naturally feels romantic. It is the kind of place where conversations slow down, moments last longer, and dinners turn into memories. Whether it is a date night, anniversary, or just a special evening out, City Kitchen creates the perfect backdrop.

I have dined at over thirty five Michelin three star restaurants across the globe, and I can confidently say this is my favorite restaurant in the world. It is truly shocking to me that City Kitchen does not hold a Michelin rating, because the experience rivals and often exceeds many that do.

City Kitchen is not just a restaurant. It is an experience built on consistency, warmth, creativity, and perfection. I will continue coming back for years to come.

My wife and I celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary on the City Kitchen porch, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Upon our arrival, we were promptly seated. Our server Bailey was both charming and knowledgeable. She gave us excellent suggestions from the menu and allowed us plenty of time to make our selections and enjoy each course. We highly recommend the heirloom tomato and burrata salad, the Oysters Rockefeller appetizer, the Caribbean-style grouper and the filet medallions of beef entrees. The sunset view from the porch was lovely, and as the evening progressed, the harbor lights were magical. Don’t miss this experience – make your reservation well in advance.

My husband and I ordered the featured oyster appetizer as well as the featured red snapper entree. We also had the brownie for dessert with coffee. The food was great, as was the service from Lisa! The atmosphere on the deck overlooking the marina was beautiful. This was my favorite dining experience in the area thus far.

One of our favorite dining spots for special occasions. Food is spectacular, service excellent and the view of the marina creates a beautiful atmosphere. We were there for our anniversary and shared the wedge salad, we each really enjoyed the grouper special with a red Thai curry coconut cream sauce over Jasmine rice with a pineapple salsa. The perfect wine, a Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc, made the meal complete. Their signature dessert, Sticky Toffee Pudding, was delicious (but a bit overpriced at $16.95).

This was one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I’ve recommended it many times. Tonight they lost us as customers. I ordered a drink that was too lemony and asked for them to replace it with a glass of wine. They charged me for both drinks even though the cocktail did not have the honey or lavender flavors described in the menu. All I could taste was the lemon. They didn’t offer to remake it. The server took it away and didn’t bring it back even though i was charged full price for it. They charged me for the cocktail I returned without drinking and charged me for the wine. Their service has gotten so bad they can’t recognize how terrible their costumer service is. They told me that they couldn’t help it if i didn’t like it. The food and atmosphere are lovely but I cat recommended a restaurant which doesn’t value and appreciate their customers. If they can let repeat costumers go over an item that cost them so little to make that’s poor management. Considering the prices and quality of the restaurant this should have been handled with more professionalism.

City Kitchen is the perfect spot for a date night or special night out. They are tucked away in the Town Creek Marina offering beautiful views of the water for a romantic coastal atmosphere. The locally sourced food is prepared fresh and plated beautiful. The menu offers selections such as fresh seafood, steak, shrimp and grits, a gourmet burger, and duck bolognese. We were huge fans of the hamburger steak with its delicious bourbon brown sauce. The filet was cooked to perfection and did not disappoint. The daily fresh caught fish specials are always a fantastic option.

City Kitchen is a perfect vibe. From the elevated coastal ambience to the classy and informative service this environment is conducive to a great dining experience. The tenderloin special was delicious and cooked to order. Also, do NOT dine here and NOT try the sticky toffee pudding. It is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend visiting City Kitchen if you are in Beaufort, North Carolina!
