Reviews
All the food we ordered was very good and tasted fresh.
11-piece nigiri (super) – this was a fun platter with many varieties of fish. Every piece was really good
Karaage – love the couple of shisito peppers they add. The karaage itself has a thicker batter than what I’m used to but the chicken is well marinated
San Mateo – California roll with minced tuna and tobilo on top. Their California roll uses real crab meat and you can definitely tell the difference from imitation crab
The only downside is that it is pricier than other sushi options nearby. We ordered three things and with tips / tax was over $110
Ishiyaki is so fun, hot crunchy stone bowl rice that transforms into a savory rice broth when you pour the chazuke in
They don’t always have Anago (sea eel) bowl but it’s a nice rice dish
Also I love chef’s kohada and uni sushi. I live in sf so,
I can’t come to eat sashimi and grilled fish every day. I want to eat every time!!

Second review Feb 2021:
Ordered takeout and was worried about quality because of having to drive it back home, but that ultimately was unfounded. Yuzu did a great job with packaging their delicate sushi and still looked beautiful after we got home. We got 2 of the regular sushi (11pcs) and also got an order of the salmon lovers sushi – both were delicious, just like eating it at the restaurant.

Original review in early 2020:
This place is so good that I came to eat here two days in a row and roped my girlfriend in on the second day. The sushi is fresh and of very good quality, I had the chefs choice omakase both days (lunch and dinner). I spent more money than I expected the first day because I just wanted more and more sushi lol. 100% would recommend, the best sushi I’ve had in the Bay ar a very reasonable price point.
Ordered lunch take out the Super Chef’s choice sushi — I do not eat my sushi with soy sauce so I appreciate fresh fish and do not mind it being bland. However, I did not find it fresh. Felt like one of fish had a strange softness & texture. 2/10pcs of the fish was stringy with an overly amount of wasabi. I literally got “hit” and got all teary. Ginger, miso soup and the sushi rice was good but disappointed with freshness and price per value.
Maybe it’s better in person? ♀️
I am less than 10min drive from this place so I doubt the freshness deteriorated in transit.
