I ordered the sautéed string beans, which appeared to be pre-frozen and had a strange off taste. Into the garbage!!
I also ordered chicken egg drop with wonton soup. The wontons did not appear to be freshly made. I did not eat the soup until the next day and the soup appeared artificially colored, yellow, and must’ve had some kind of thickening agent in it. It was just a gloppy mess! Into the Garbage.
the Moo shu chicken was good and so was the eggroll. But …I won’t be coming back as artificial colors, and vegetables that should be fresh that weren’t don’t really check off a lot of boxes as far as “fresh quality food” for a Chinese restaurant. Sorry.

Well, the owner is listening, they updated the interior and it looks beautiful. The food they improved as well. It was hot and very tasty. The only thing is the waitress was very fast and not very friendly towards my elderly mom. Do better !!! There are alot of restaurant options out there, we picked to eat at your restuarant.. Show your best self !!

I would give at least give 2 stars to a bad restaurant food but this is just ATROCIOUS. The frowny face on the general tso is the truth and so as the orange chicken. There is no flavor, the chicken is breaded heavily with a soggy texture, and the oil is old. Even the white rice was stale, like the leftover rice for fried rice. The wonton chips were stale and even the ginger had a moldy smell. I had to throw away so much food cause even my boyfriend wouldn’t eat it. I am so sorry to have gotten this food and I hope I won’t be sorrier late since the food was definitely not fresh. 🙁

We had dinner and found COCKROACH in one of our favorite dish, Peking style pork chop. We used to love Pearl East so much that came for lunch and dinner quite often. But this time the cockroach shocked us. We found a cockroach in the middle of the dish after we had eaten a few pieces on top of it. We reported it immediately and the general manager said she could offer a replacement for the dish. We didn’t want to eat anything in the restaurant anymore because we were not sure the safety and hygiene of other dishes. We asked for waive the meal, after a while, she approved it. We wanted to talk to the owner about the hygiene issue and the general manager claimed she is the owner at the meantime. She said it’s common to see cockroach in restaurant and it happened in the past. Besides, she mentioned that in the past there were some NICE customers who insisted to pay for the full meal when they found cockroach while the restaurant offered them to waive the meal. Does it mean we are not NICE customer because we asked to waive the meals. We asked them what they can do with the situation? The general manager who claimed she is the owner said they could do nothing. We hope they can realize it’s unacceptable to find cockroach in food when serving customers especially during pandemic HYGIENE is the most important thing. Cockroach carries diseases. PLEASE clean your kitchen properly and the entire restaurant.

The food is great and the staff members are very kind. My personal favorite roll to order here is spicy salmon, and the scallion pancakes are good as well

It is so disgusting being their neighbor with the lack of acknowledgment and extreme, disrespect.disrespect towards the neighborhood. Every day they leave their dumpster open and seagulls are picking garbage out of it, dropping it in the parking lot and on my roof there are chicken bones in all types of food, even worse is when it rains in the lids of the garbage cans are open all the nasty Rainwater washes into the driveway I even have pictures of when they used to use the laundromat next-door. There was seafood in the dryer. Disgusting disgusting people with no respect for the neighborhood. All you have to do is close your dumpster so the animals don’t go in it and spread the garbage all over the neighborhood absolutely no respect.

Ordered takeout from here last night and was appalled just how disgusting everything was. Our usual spots were closed for Monday so I decided to give Pearl East a shot…and to my dismay I reaffirmed why I had not stepped foot in here for many years.
The Mongolian Beef was absolutely disgusting. The Orange Shrimp was unedible, the Fried Rice was burnt and excessively oily. I can go on and on…I definitely will not EVER be returning…Yuck

We were originally heading to Peter Chang’s (now permanently closed). Yelp was down, so I had to rely on Google Maps—and I’m glad I did!

Value: Great—$$ with huge portions
The menu is cleverly divided into thirds: New York–style Chinese food, Traditional Chinese food, and Japanese dishes (including an authentic sushi chef).
The food was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. Portions were so large we had to take a ton home, which means another full meal tomorrow. Usually when I eat at a Chinese restaurant I leave a little hungry and end up grabbing dessert somewhere else—not tonight. I’m stuffed and satisfied.
