Stopped here when visiting family in Cortland. Our party of six was seated quickly around 4 on a Thursday. Decor and atmosphere were great. Service went well but at times a bit slow. Cocktails were good but not great. Food was good, a few items very good, but two cold soups and some small portions detracted. Considering the early time and it wasn’t busy, I wasn’t wowed but it was my only visit. Two of my family go here, so I’d definitely return. Could have just been factors we weren’t aware of. It was certainly nothing to complain about!

Really nice restaurant in this quaint and charming small town packed with a ton of history. We had calamari and mushrooms for an appetizer. I had a wedge salad and my friend enjoyed a GF sandwich. Nice place to sit for a few hours over a meal and chilled wine. Staff very nice and friendly. You can see the menu has many items and they even let you ‘make your own salad menu’ – pretty sweet.

The Exchange is one of our favorite restaurants. The menu is fantastic with so many options. The food and drinks are served with care and attention to detail. If you’re gluten free they have a ton of options. If you’re looking for high quality food at a great price point make a reservation. The decor and vibe is awesome and the service is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Despite arriving last minute on a busy Friday night with no reservation, the hostess chased us outside to tell us she would have a table for us, after initially saying it would be a 20 minute wait. Now that’s service, and it was how our dinner experience at The Exchange began. Tough to beat that gesture.
Well I’m happy to report that the rest of the experience was equally as impressive, and enjoyable. From the attentive, and witty server, to the delicious, perfectly cooked and unique food, to the buzzing communal atmosphere, The Exchange is a highly recommended newer restaurant that have now visited for breakfast, lunch, & dinner with positive experiences all 3 times.

We woke and decided to treat the kids to breakfast before church. We arrived with little over an hour before church. We were treated by friendly staff who seated us. The owner treated our kids to some, I’m told, delicious cookies. We ordered our food and it can out very quickly. The food was amazing, staff was attentive and took great care of us. Would highly recommend the breakfast! We even made it to church with time to spare! Thank you

We recently moved back to town after a few years away, and The Exchange is a “new to us” and pleasant surprise restaurant. The Exchange is a rustic chic gem amidst the dingy cny restaurant scene and a true date night/special occasion destination.
Megan was incredibly warm and welcoming as soon as we walked in the door, setting a lovely tone for the rest of the evening. Leighann was our server, so kind, understanding and very personable. Leighann provided exactly the service you want during a date- well versed on the menu to guide us first timers through the meal with ease, connected with us on a personal level, and didn’t hover or try to be pushy.
Jamie, the general manager, was super accommodating with an enthusiastic energy towards providing next level service.
Food was excellent. Atmosphere was wonderful. Service was outstanding.
We will most certainly be back, you should definitely put this place on your radar and in your go-to date night line up!

If you haven’t visited The Exchange yet, get yourself there now! The food is excellent, the ambiance is delightful, and the service is very good.
I only have the service 4 stars because our server did not ask if we wanted coffee with dessert and gave us our bill before dessert arrived. Not a big deal by any means, but I probably would have ordered coffee with my AMAZING CHOCOLATE TORTE if they had asked me. Once I realized I wanted it I was already halfway through and figured it was a bit late to add that after paying the bill. Otherwise, I will be going again soon to enjoy their amazing food and wine!

Great restaurant to eat some good food and yes maybe a little pricey, but worth every penny and the staff is just wonderful as well.
Definitely recommend to try this restaurant.

Glad we paid no attention to….“You can’t go home again” or we would have missed this exemplary lunch experience! Homer has risen the bar with “The Exchange” and I was proud to return with friends after being away for almost 40 years…
Fabulous cosmopolitan atmosphere, impeccable service and fresh, copious portioned dishes with an upscale presentation……we were impressed beyond expectations!
My filthy dirty martini was “perfection”….ice cold glass and to the rim!!!!
Get off the main road and take a side bar…you’ll be glad you did!!

Such a breath of fresh air for the Homer/Cortland area. Finally a higher scale dinner experience that is providing a great ambiance, friendliest staff and a great menu. We had a party in the back and it was perfect. Special thanks to Sheila and Heidi for doing such a fantastic job for the special occasion. I am looking forward to their progress on the dishes. Some of the offerings were outstanding. Some of the dishes have opportunities for added flavor with more spices and influences. I am very optimistic for the place to become “THE” place to dine at. Thank you Dan and George for your visions coming to reality!
