Dollar hot dog Tuesdays is great for the kids, I tried the cheesy beef on garlic and was thoroughly disappointed. It smelled good but overall taste was bland. The beef was fatty and grizzly too, so I won’t come here for beef again.

For the past year my family has enjoyed the food at the Beef Shack. Form the beef sandwiches to cheeseburger, chicken stripe, they also have chicago style hotdogs, its always great food. My kids love the cheese cups for their fries. The food in my opinion is better then Portillo’s.

Ive come to this location since it opened. The chicken sandwich is genuinely tasty. But this visit was incredibly disappointing. I know theres a wait for the sandwich, and its occasionally been a little long. But today I was told to pull in front of the building after going through the drive thru, instead of the designated spots, and spent 20+ minutes waiting when there was one couple inside and only 2 other drive thru customers. When I went in to ask what was going on, I was told “we couldn’t see you” when no one ever left the building to check. Why would I just drive away after paying for food? There was truck behind me waiting as well, they also had to go in to get their food which had been sitting on the counter. There’s no way they couldn’t atleast see the truck from the inside. And to top it off I paid over $10 for a chicken sandwich that barely covered 50% of the bun. Ive usually had ok service here, but today was just frustrating. Ive worked food service for years, and I know how customers should be treated. I dont think us customers weren’t seen, I think the employees didnt care enough to even check and were going to wait until we came in to grab our food. It just seemed lazy. Ill definitely reconsider stopping by in the future. The foods good enough but the service is lacking.

Food can be really hit or miss here. I ordered a beef with sweet and hot peppers and I’ve never had so few peppers put on my sandwich before. Their burgers, fries, and cheese sauce are pretty good.

I did a pickup order and it said ready in 35-40 minutes and so I literally get there in 45 minutes. The girl acts surprised when I even walk up to the counter after the lady in front of me left and she didn’t even make eye contact and made comments laughing to people in the back before acknowledging me. They took two orders and got them both out before they got mine out. I didn’t even hear her say my name to anyone for the pickup, she just walked to the area of bags sitting there and said it’ll be a few minutes without telling anyone.

I almost don’t want to leave this reviews because the girl at the window was so nice. But, as she handed me my food I noticed she had long nails. That wasn’t my problem. My problem was what she had underneath those nails. Just layers and layers of crud! Her hands looked so unsanitary. I peeked through the window and the kitchen does not look clean at all. My food was not warm and fries were so salty and burnt.
Can we please go back to properly hand washing and keeping finger nails clean at fast food restaurants. Please.

I’ve ordered hot dogs from here three times and every time they’re cold. Once, a fluke… twice, a coincidence but three times a pattern. What establishment in Chicagoland screws up a hot dog? Even the buns felt cold to the touch, as if they came straight out of the fridge. A minimum expectation of eating at a restaurant is that the food is served hot. 2 stars because the fries and burgers are good. I’d give 3 stars (and probably get burgers here more often) if the pricing was better than: just shy of five guys

I stopped by for the 2-for-$2 Chicago-style hotdogs. My expectations were low. I was given two beautifully constructed hot dogs that didn’t skimp on the ingredients. The only thing that could have made it better was if the buns were steamed. Phenomenal value.

Great restaurant with not overwhelming menu. They keep it simple but delicious. We ordered the garlic cheesy beef with hot gardenera and cheese burgers. The cups are awesome. They keep your drink cold because they are made from aluminum, and if you bring it back, your drink is only one dollar. The cashier was patient with me since it was my first time,and she answered some questions respectfully and was polite. I’ll be coming back to try some other menu items soon.

This place is over priced and they charge for every side you want. My root beer float was very little root beer and ice cream. My chicken sandwich was okay little more black that I like. Will not go there again.
