Visited for first time. Small restaurant and bar with big menu and reasonable prices plus a 4-7 happy hour 7 days a week. Clean and comfortable. We sat at the bar and received great service. We ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms , Connecticut Lobster Roll and Baked Stuffed Shrimp. Portions were above average. The mushrooms and Lobster roll were very good. The shrimp was OK although it appeared more liked steamed shrimp ( instead of baked) with crab meat on top. Actually enjoyed the crabmeat in the mushrooms more than the entree. Will definitely be back.

The food was delicious. I got the oyster po’boy & the perfectly fried oysters were put in a nice, soft sub roll so as not to compete with the softness of the oysters. The fries were light and crispy. My husband enjoyed his smashburger, too. We enjoyed the music, too. Pleasantly surprised, so we’ll be back.

Pretty good spot for some New England seafood. My favorite dish is the lobster & scallop mac n cheese. Onion rings & soup are solid too. The crab shrimps were lackluster. Clean, well decorated interior with a full bar.

The atmosphere was so nice. I loved the quiet music, soft light and clean space. Jessica was an amazing server with perfect timing. The food. Food was excellent. They really hit each point perfectly. The baked haddock made me want to cry by how good it was!!! Steamed sampler, fried haddock sandwich, baked haddock, and clams casino is what I recommend. I have to be back to try more of the menu

(The pictures dont do it justice!)

My husband and I stopped in on Wednesday night to try them for the first time. And they did not disappoint! For an Appetizer we had the full belly clam strips, I don’t eat the belly’s my husband does and he said they were really good, I thought the strips were really good! For our main dish hubby hat the Connecticut style Lobster Roll with melted butter and French fries and I had the Haddock Sandwich with French fries. The portions were good, the Haddock was a nice size piece of fish and very well done. We could only eat half of our sandwiches and brought the rest home for lunch the next day. The atmosphere is really nice relaxed and played back, it’s a small place with a few tables inside with a nice size bar and a few tables outside. The service wasn’t bad, I could just tell that our waitress was new and had to keep going back to get the answers to the questions we had asked her and she never came by to check on us to see how we were doing and if we needed anything, but again she was new.. so she’ll get there! All in all, I would recommend New England Fish House and Raw Bar, I’m from MA and I can’t wait to go back and try more items on there menu!! Especially the New England Clam Chowder!!!

We came in recently during vacation to try this restaurant for the first time. I feel like we got off on a negative vibe immediately, because the children mentioned their favorite restaurant was the flying fish which the waitress had negative things to say about that( Previous employee is my guess). The food was delicious, but the service was nothing to write home about. It is a very small restaurant.

I’ve been here about a half dozen times. Very small setup with a and some high stand tables. Bar has a nice selection of drinks, particularly bourbon. Their bourbon selection is pleasantly surprising.

I’ve had their Clam Chowder and clam strips before, both are good. But recently my wife and I went there for a full dinner and I go the haddock and she go the Salad with Salmon.

For some people the menu may be a bit pricey but it’s well worth it because the food is superb and they don’t cheat you on the size. The haddock was large to say the least, but unlike a lot of large entrees at other restaurants, this still delivered in spades on taste. Even their tartar sauce was a notch above in terms of taste. Since we live nearby we will certainly be back many more times. But for those visiting I would highly recommend to get out of the tourist traps and still have delicious seafood.

We searched the internet for New England whole belly clams and found this place. We were excited to try it since the reviews were good. From start to finish this was a bad experience. I was given the daily special of all you can eat snow crab legs. The first round was fantastic and I was so excited. However, I could hear the chatter of the wait staff making snide remarks about my sister having to send back her hamburger and hush puppies that were both raw. I guess in their minds, we must avid complainers. Well, now for the second round for me of the delicious crab legs that were supposed to be all you can eat that I waited patiently 10 minutes for. These were not the same as the first ones. These were translucent and overcooked. The shells would not crack, only bend. It was difficult to even get to the meat. BTW I ordered another round as they sat this one down. Perfect timing as I finished these subpar crab legs as the third batch was sat down in front of me. These however were just as bad, if not worse. You couldn’t crack the shells at all. The flavor was good, but the texture was bad. Even so, by that time I didn’t want to chance another round of overcooked crab legs, so we asked for the check. Never once were we rude or vocal about our dissatisfaction, but the wait staff decided to point out our concerns to a patron that comes every Sunday. As we were leaving, this patron takes it upon herself to tell me to go to another place and then I would have something to complain about. This was extremely rude. We never once asked them to do anything with our bill, but to speak ill about us to other customers is extremely unprofessional. Overall just a very bad experience. Management never even came to the table. Bad customer experience.

This was a rough review because honestly the food was excellent .
When you first enter the restaurant they’re no one to greet you , not even an hello just a big sign that says seat your self .
We sat at dirty table and waited about 3-5 min for the only waitress to to wipe it down with a dirty wet towel and wiped all the food and crumbs from the previous customer onto our laps .
When we finally got the menus we ordered right away knowing the waitress might not be back for long time .
We ordered drinks , 1 water with Lemon as I love a lemon water with my seafood , 2 cokes and frozen margarita , waitress came back with no Lemon , margarita on rock ( wrong order ) .
Never got my lemon
We orders a pint of steamers 20$ which comes out to around 12 pieces give or take , medium size full , few tiny ones , very fresh , a bit sandy but that’s ok I know they were super fresh , the waitress delivered the steamers with no butter , Ask if we want butter after she delivered them by the time she got back, the steamers were all gone. Next came two lobster rolls, which were pretty good. Not the best tasted like a mixture of frozen lobster meat and fresh lobster meat. I think they combine the two definitely more bread than lobster meat but not bad. We also got a Scallop plate . The scallops were jumbo cooked to perfection, sweet succulent, and fresh. My only complaint as what most people is just not enough and it’s basically a huge plate of fries with a few scallops..
my team daughter got the Smashburger, which honestly I couldn’t find the burger inside the bun. It was a decent size bun, but no burger very flavorless the waitress served the burger with no condiments no catchup no mayonnaise. I would say the burger was a big disappointment. I understand seafood is expensive nowadays, but it has to be a balance between value and portion size while the food while the quality of the food was outstanding fresh. The portion size to value is lacking service is not existing the waitress was on shift by herself and it was a full restaurant. The ambience is between a bar and a diner so don’t come for the ambience but do come for the good quality food.. the product is there but it’s really lacking in customer service and experience waitress. Oh yeah, I forgot about the fried whole belly clams. Well there was nothing wrong with the clams themselves. They were too tiny and when you fry those tiny clams they become crumbs so I definitely would stay away from the fried clams unless they decide to get larger ones cause honestly it was like eating just bread batter because the clams were so small .
Total spent with with tip 180$ 2 lobster rolls , one pint steamers , one app order of whole belly fried clams , one scallop plate , one smash burger , two cokes , Margarita . Also, just as a sidenote, you advertise your restaurant as a raw bar and you don’t really mention where any of your shellfish comes from. It’s nice to advertise on the menu where your product is coming from , that your clams come from McClellanville or your cherry stones. Come from Cape Cod Bay or your oysters are from Island Creek. Etc …
We will be back .

Update 021326; Whole belly clams were great! I ask for crispy and they were perfect!

Update 102025; Whole belly fried clams were terrible; gooey, slimy, way over salted, barely battered and cooked, I could not eat them. My wife had the baked haddock and said it was dry, salty, probably was frozen.

Update; went back for the fried clams and they are good! A few more would have been great but the price is very reasonable especially so far from New England. Keep up the good work!

Original review; I’m grateful that New England style fried clams are available here they are certainly hard to find! My whole belly fried clams were ok, a little chewy and the oil left an aftertaste. But I will be back. My wife had the fried haddock she said it was ok but wished it was available baked or grilled. The price was reasonable. No dogs is a big plus!
