Stopped by the South Orange Cluck U Chicken after a long work shift with my girlfriend, and the experience was disappointing. The staff member who took our order was extremely rude and unwelcoming, making sarcastic comments when I asked questions about the menu and sauces. I ended up leaving rather than arguing. Customers deserve to be treated with basic respect definitely not the kind of service I expected.

Tried for the first time and it was good. The fries are very well seasoned, the chicken was tasty and crispy. When you order 12 pieces of chicken you get 5 free honey biscuits. Just make sure you tell them add the honey. The Mac and cheese could use some work in my opinion.

The staff is friendly. The food is good. Great grab and go spot, mainly because the inside is very small. The honey mustard wings are delicious. The onion rings were good, fresh with just the right amount of batter; they would have been better with sauce (guess the ran out ♀️). I also tried the beef ribs the were ok nice and juicy, but there was more bbq sauce in the container than the meat. This wasn’t a bad experience, just a busy night for a small place.

Today I ate from, Cluck-U Chicken S.O., for the first time in a while and it was absolutely phenomenal. Typically I’d order their legendary Mini Bites, but wanted something a little light. I had ordered their Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap w/ Lettuce, Tomatoes, Parmesan, & Caesar Dressing. The best word to describe the wrap would be Refreshing. The chicken had awesome flavor and the veggies were extremely fresh. For it to not necessarily be intended to be so, it was pretty filling. One can’t really go wrong with Cluck-U. They have some good food for great prices. If anyone is in S.O. and would like some Chicken, def would highly recommend Cluck-U S.O.!

The (bone – in) wings are still good like I remember as a kid. I think their mild buffalo sauce is probably one of the best out there. Just be sure to order the wings over the phone extra crispy. Maybe order light sauce or just say sauce on the side to maintain maximum crispiness. Overall I was satisfied with my order. Their wings are pretty big too.

We ordered “Saucy Vegan Chicken” for delivery via Uber Eats, the sandwiches we received look nothing like the images. It looks like you will receive a fried chicken style sandwich, but the reality is a Boca/Morningstar chicken patty. The original had no sauce on it, despite the image making it look like there’s a white sauce. The spicy did have buffalo sauce, but still it was just a regular store brand chicken patty. Very disappointed.

Cluck u south orange is the only cluck u I’ve ever been to. I like my wings saucy but crispy. To achieve this you have to eat them right away once they are sauced so I usually order plain wings, well done, with sauce on the side. I put my own sauce because restaurants (in general) love soaking the wings in so much sauce it ruins the crispiness of the wings by the time you get them home or delivered to you. Their buffalo sauce is very good too. It’s the only one I get. Honey bbq is good too. And honestly, they season their wings good enough so without sauce they are great when I just want some good simple fried chicken wings.
