What a hidden gem!! Currently my favorite Thai food in SD. As soon as you walk in you feel like you entered an authentic Thai restaurant in Thailand. Food is so delicious, I’ve been going twice a week. My favorite dish is papaya salad and basil beef dish. Everything is so good and staff is amazing. Highly recommend.

We got the crispy tofu and Hat Yai Chicken & Curry!
Hat Yai is so yummy! We really appreciate the crispness of the chicken and how it’s fried throughly and how the seasoning is absorbed very well.

Good Thai food, but quite a bit different from what I’ve had at other Thai restaurants. My go-to order is Pad See Ew and it was topped with cilantro which was unusual. I didn’t mind the cilantro flavor, but others may not like it. They used broccolini of broccoli and there weren’t any carrots. This restaurant seems to serve more authentic Thai food than your average Thai restaurant. We also ordered the Enoki mushrooms and chicken wings from the appetizer menu and both had really nice flavor. I ordered the Lychee beer and loved the super sweet taste, but those who love regular beer may not enjoy its overpowering fruity flavor. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere with cool posters on the wall and open-air seating. We arrived at 7pm on a Tuesday without a reservation and were seated immediately. Street parking in North Park can be tricky, but we found a paid-parking lot about a block away from the restaurant for $8 an hour. Not the best Thai food I’ve ever had, but it was a nice experience and the area is very fun to walk around.

Wonderful food, simple atmosphere. We had four dishes; each was superb. The crab fried rice was flavorful and delicate, the beef savory and bold. The appetizers were tasty. We’d come here again in a heartbeat!

This place was such a great find during our visit. The decor was so nostalgic, it reminded me of when I went to Chiang Mai and some of the smaller restaurants I’d come across. The food was fantastic. We had the beef noodle soup and the hat yai chicken. Both were delicious. The soup had deep flavor and the curry with the chicken was really flavorful. I wish we had something like this back in Seattle! The service was great, the servers were kind, considerate, and attentive.

So good! Some real authentic Thai food at its best! I was in town visiting family and was looking for authentic Som Tum and after one failed attempt at Thai Village in PB (I don’t recommend at all!) I decided to give Kin Len a shot and boy I was not disappointed! Their Som Tum was so good and completely authentic and comparable to what my neighbor used to make for me (she’s Thai). Reasonably priced and super generous portions! Will definitely be going back the next time I’m in San Diego!

Fantastic food – great variety, depth of flavor, and even good vegan options. Service as great – server was prompt and friendly despite it being pretty busy. And, the atmosphere and decor make for a really unique experience.
Get the Tom Yum wings!!!

Kin Len – Thai Street Eats was a definite treat during my recent visit to San Diego!

The “Son-In-Law” chicken wings were crispy and drizzled with a delicious sweet and tangy sauce. The pork belly appetizer was lightly fried and tasted like a chicarrone. It was served with a spicy green sauce.

The “Hot Mama” noodles were dressed in a flavorful sauce and tossed with shrimp, scallops, and mussels.

What a great street food-style Thai restaurant located in North Park! Be prepared to circle around for paid street parking.

Environment/Service:
My friend and I went at 1pm on a Thursday and we were seated right away and opted for an outdoor table where they have a few 2 person tables. Inside, there are 2-4 person tables. Doesn’t seem the place to be for larger groups. Our server was very attentive, constantly filled up our waters, and food came pretty fast!

Food:
-Spicy Fish Cake ($10.95): 5 pieces of round fish cakes, served with sweet chili sauce. Wasn’t too spicy and was a little chewy. I’d probably skip this next time.

-Tom Yum Wings ($10.95): 6 pieces half drums/half flats. The crunch was perfect and the flavor was super good! I’d order this again.

-Drunken Mama ($18.95): not your regular Thai drunken noodles. It has thin noodles, more saucy, and had great flavoring! Served with a good amount of shrimp, mussels, and scallops.

-Basil Beef ($15.95): 4/5 spice. I love spicy food and this had a little bit of a kick to it! Served with rice and fried egg on top. I realllyyy enjoyed this dish!

-Thai Tea: free with check in

Overall:
There were so many options that it was hard to choose between the two of us! The servings were not as big as you’d expect for the prices but we still ended up full and had enough to take home for left overs. I’d love to come back to try out other items on the menu.

Another great Thai spot in North Park. This place had casual seating with a nice little outdoor patio. The menu had a great variety of options with some non-traditional items that were delicious.

We ordered the Tom Yum Fries, Calamari, Son-in-Law Wings, Thai Papaya Salad, Crab Fried Rice, and Pad Thai.

The fries were super flavorful, and were fresh and crispy. Highly recommend. The wings were good, but didn’t have as much meat as I usually like. Papaya salad had great flavor, but the cabbage was a bit hard to cut to eat (not a big deal).

We were a little disappointed with the crab fried rice as it lacked a lot of flavor and the crab was minimal. Pad thai was pretty good, but I’ll definitely be ordering more things to try next time I come.
