We dropped in hoping for some good and authentic Mexican bites. The place looks ok from the outside, and not much to look at in the inside. Although it was very clean, the tables and the overall setup looked odd and out of place. There was no one there to greet us, and when someone finally came out from the back, they simply said we could sit anywhere. The restrooms are clean but had a very offensive odor. The menu had plenty of items to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. Three different items we asked for were not available, so we settled on a couple of tacos al pastor and a couple of chorizo, with a couple of beers (they only had 2 to choose from). The food was tasty, although a bit over saturated in oil. My experience was barely ok, and will likely not be back.

I recently dined at El Gran Taco Loco, and the food was undeniably fantastic! From savory tacos to zesty guacamole, every dish was bursting with flavor. However, the atmosphere left much to be desired. The restaurant could benefit from improving its ambiance and decor to match the quality of its cuisine. Overall, a delightful culinary experience with room for enhancement in setting the mood.

I was looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant because I had a craving for nachos. I arrived today, August 15, 2024, around 1:30 p.m., and ordered nachos from this restaurant. I informed the waitress that I wanted my order to go. I was in a hurry when I received my order, so I did not double-check it and trusted the restaurant. When I got home, I checked my nachos and there was no meat, cheese, or anything. I spent $20 on this and it was a waste of money.

I tried three tacos: asada, al pastor, and chicken. They were okay, nothing special. However, the ceviche tostada was the star of the meal—fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I’d return just for that! A must-try for seafood lovers.

The food was delicious, and the service was inviting. However, the place is too exposed to the possibility of customers being approached by unsavory characters. Apart from that, I really enjoyed a second helping on another order besides the first one I placed.

I was in town looking for something to eat and among the many Mexican restaurants is El Gran Taco Loco. The building stood out from the rest and I’m happy I stopped in to give them a try. I eat tacos everywhere I go and the tacos here are excellent . The agua fresca are very good also. I had the Melon and Limonada. For food I went with the Quesabirria which comes loaded with cheese and is paired with a delicious dipping sauce. For the tacos I had to go with the Al Pastor. Served with a Jalapeno for that extra kick! I’ll be back next time I’m down in Homestead.

The food was good but it was served on a piece of paper on a plastic plate. The paper tore and was a mess from cutting the meal to eat it. It would have been fine if the food could have been picked up and eaten with hands like a taco. No prices on the menu. I don’t think we received local pricing.

Al Pastor is supposed to be shaved meat off the spinning roaster, instead I got chunks of pan fried tasteless salty meat. And the smell outside is awful! It’s probably best to skip this place, it looks better than what’s served. Even the lime slice was dry so I couldn’t drizzle it on the “al pastor” torta.
