The Salty Dawg Saloon is a historic bar on the Homer Spit. It has been a bar since 1957 but some of the buildings that house the bar date back much later. We are not a restaurant but do serve chips, nuts, and microwave hotdogs. We are happy to see locals, seasonal workers from the fishing and tourism industries, and visitors from all over the world and we hope to see you soon.

We were just grabbing a few drinks before dinner. Atmosphere is very eclectic. The drinks were made very well. Annie provided excellent and friendly service.

A Homer icon, the place lives up to its name. It’s dark inside and the walls are filled with dollar bills. Here you can belly up to the bar and sit with locals and visitors. Memorabilia is for sale.

Friendly staff and patrons. Locals and tourists visit here. Not a fan of bars with dollar bills hanging all over but still a good time here. Lucky to be here after boat tour and the fish place came over and sold me cod/fries (big portions) for $10! They were closing for the season.

This. Place. Is. EPIC! Enjoying an Irish coffee with friends after a night of shenanigans and music. The soundtrack here is Pink Floyd, 70’s and 80’s rock. The bar mistress is my spirit animal and I just got the coolest Tshirt. Atmosphere is super chill and welcoming. Drinks are appropriately spiked and I will never forget the dollar bill aesthetic. 10/10.

Loved visiting this unique saloon! I went earlier in the day, so it wasn’t packed. You can easily spend hours in there just reading the messages left on all the dollar bills. Fun and bubbly bartender, make sure to get one of their awesome hoodies!

What can I say, this place is so cute. Lots of history in here on the tables and walls. Music is great company is good and it was nice and warm when we stopped in this chilly day. Pool tables and outside area for the smokers. Some stock sweatshirt and t-shirts. They only take cash no cards.

This is such a fun experience if you’re a local or just a tourist. The drinks are delicious, the bartenders are kind, the atmosphere is as cool in person as it looks online. The establishment is cash only so make sure you come prepared to avoid ATM fees! Leave your mark with a personalized dollar. We spent all day here playing pool, listening to live music, all around a great time. Will be coming back!
