I randomly stumbled across this place and thought it was worth given it a shot.

It’s a very small two table 4 chair almost to go only spot. I arrived right at opening so of course I was able to get a seat at a table.

The cashier was extremely friendly, very nice, and offered to help or get me anything that I needed to accommodate me during my meal.

Because I arrived early, I had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes to get my food. I ordered the fried pork belly with sweet plantain and a side of the roasted chicken.

The roasted chicken was absolutely delicious! It was extremely hot, very tender, very juicy with a ton of flavor. I’d actually go by just to get a side of chicken to eat in the car. Lol.

The sweet plantain were pretty much what you would expect, but they were sweet, well cooked, and delicious. No faults on the sweet plantain.

Then it comes to the fried pork belly. While I think it has a ton of potential, unfortunately, it was fried extremely extremely hard to the point we’re not only was the meat dry, but it was fried so hard even the fat part I had cooked so much that it became dry.

It was too a point where I had to try and soak the pieces of fried pork belly and the pan of chicken juice just to try and moisten it up or get a little bit of wetness on it to make it a little easier to eat. While I would go back, I would definitely ask for them to go much easier on the fry on the pork belly

Two out of three is not bad and again the staff was extremely friendly and the chicken and plantain were delicious. So I would for sure go back and give them another try and see if maybe it was just an off day.

Edit per response.

As stated I dined in so anything offered to take out is irrelevant to me.

The cook options on the pork belly were not offered to me in any way or mentioned that it normally is fried hard enough that it transforms from food to a lethal weapon.

I never complained about the wait time but realistically I was told it would be a wait and it actually doesn’t take 15-20 mins to prep and cook plantain or the pork belly. So assuming it was because you just opened was a safer option.

And yes the 2 items were very delicious. My goal was for an authentic experience. And what you sent out was what you were confident sending out. So the very very very very very crispy pork belly was acceptable product and I took that as your standard. Customers shouldn’t have to complain for a restaurant to care or send out food that’s really not burnt or extremely over cooked.

I honestly use to love this place and their food especially when I first moved in the Newnan area for work and so did my girlfriend but the past 2 times I’ve ordered it’s disappointed me with how the flavor of the food has changed, hard rice, very small portions when I’m paying 20$ for a meal that I’m so excited to taste. This place use to make me feel like I was back in Brooklyn eating at the lil Hispanic restaurants that always have great cultural flavor to their and other selections but it seems like this restaurant fell off. I’m sorry but I cannot come back anymore after that last meal was just plain terrible.

First time going there and the experience was excellent!!! The food tasted amazing! We had Monfongo with shrimp and crab meat, Monfongo with chicken and shrimp and chicken pasta with a unique sauce. In addition, homemade juices: fruit punch tasted like guava and passion fruit. Delicious!!! 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best Ox tail, chicken, and pork I’ve had in my entire life. I’ve been eating here 3 times a week for over 6 months and haven’t come close to getting tired. Just getting started. Amazing and kind family runs it. Good ppl, great food, this is the kind of family establishment that deserves all the success in the world!!! And I hardly ever use that word ‘deserve’ ever, much less use it lightly. If you haven’t grabbed lunch here and are in Newnan area, you are crazy. Mucho Gracias a mis amigos en Comer Caluente y Frio!!!!!!

I came in shortly after they opened. Unfortunately, the tostones tasted old and re-fried, and the baked chicken also tasted like it was from the day before. The Spanish rice was okay, and the pollo empanada was decent. As a boriqua, I’m not sure if I’d return for the food, but I will say the spot itself is clean, low-key, and tucked away nicely.

From the moment you step inside they make you feel like family. The food is absolutely delicious & totally authentic! The mofongo con chicharron, oxtail con rice with gandules & red beans, pernil con white rice & black beans were absolutely on point with Spanish seasonings & tasted heavenly. The pumpkin flan was great too. Give this place a try.. you won’t regret it! We will be going back real soon to try their other dishes!
