Quiet little place, family owned restaurant. Upon arrival we got greeted immediately. Placed our order with a very friendly lady named Miriam. Of course, if you know me, we got a full rack of ribs!!! Very tender with a good bone tug. Nice pink smoke ring and flavored to perfection.
The wings….wooooo!!! Smoked and possibly deep fried?? Whatever they did..WOW!!! Crispy skin with the most delicious seasoning and a(spicy honey glaze?)
Recommend this place 10/10.

The chicken tacos were delicious. There were 5 different barbecue sauces at the table. I tried two of them are they were both very tasty. The potato salad was more like mashed potatoes but was ok. There are other sides to choose from such as street corn or cole slaw.

This family owned restaurant is big with very nice decor. Plenty of outside and inside seating. Service is friendly and fast.

We finally tried Twisted Pit Barbecue on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch after hearing so much about it, and it did not disappoint! The brisket was tender and flavorful, and the barbecue sandwich hit the spot. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and delicious, and the cucumber pineapple salad is a must-try — so fresh and unique. Everything we had was fantastic, and the banana pudding was the perfect sweet ending. On top of all that, the staff was super nice and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!

We got bbq to go and it was amazing! They were so friendly in person for the pickup, and it was so cute inside. We got brisket, the jalapeño cheddar sausage, ribs, and the Cobb salad (smoked turkey was to die for)! The pickles on the side were some of the best pickles I’ve ever had. 10/10 we can’t wait to visit again.

I got a plate of bbq to go first time trying it. Everything was absolutely amazing, I got spareribs, lean brisket, smoked turkey and jalapeño cheddar sausage which everything was a 10/10 tendernism! Some of the best bbq I’ve had from a restaurant in years and I will definitely be going back! Service was amazing! The banana pudding was by far the best banana pudding I’ve ever tasted. Will be going back on a regular basis! Absolutely amazing food and I will be honest I can’t stop thinking about the banana pudding!

⭐⭐ 2 Stars: Great Vibe, Needs Work on the Pit

Twisted Pit BBQ (Lakewood Ranch, FL) has a truly winning atmosphere, but sadly, the food didn’t quite hit the mark during our visit.

First, the positives: The environment is really nice and immediately puts you at ease. The outdoor-style seating and casual decor successfully make you feel like you’re outside at a family barbecue, which is a fantastic feeling for a BBQ joint. The staff was friendly and attentive, contributing to the welcoming, laid-back vibe.

However, the meat preparation had some noticeable issues. The brisket was unfortunately a bit dry, lacking the juiciness and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness you expect from high-quality pit BBQ. Similarly, the chicken was definitely over seasoned, making the flavor of the rub overpower the natural smoke and meat flavor.

I really wish they served smoked wings as a regular menu item; that would be a perfect addition to their offerings.

Because the atmosphere and service were so strong, I’m hopeful that the kitchen issues were just a one-off. I’m willing to give it another try, maybe in a few months, to see if the quality of the smoked meats improves.

For now, it’s a 2-star rating with high hopes for the future!

JUST WOW!!! What kinda of welcome do you think you would get when you bring a party of 15 to a restaurant before closing.. You Guessed Wrong!! Before I even walked in the door we were greeted with kindness & such a warm welcome from Evan. I can’t even begin to explain the hospitality & open arms – impeccable!! Bella took such great care of us and our boys that just finished a soccer game, thank you!! Keeping glasses full & filled our stomachs with some AMAZING HOMEMADE FOOD, SIDES & SAUCES!
The food here is spot on!! There’s a sauce for every taste. The drink menu is fantastic. Restaurant is very clean and well kept. (Clean bathroom means a clean kitchen )
I highly recommend you try Twisted Pit & when we are back in town from Texas we might see you there!! If I could give them 100 I definitely would!

1/17/26. Continues to be our favorite BBQ and goto place on LWR Main Street. Miriam, the bartender, enhances the quality experience. Evan Percoco, the owner, is usually there making sure things run seamlessly. We like the new happy hour! The patriotic theme resonates with us.

Our favorite BBQ place. We sit at the bar for a beer and order takeout. Miriam the bartender is fun to talk to. They don’t skimp on the portions. They always seem to provide a little extra. Our favorites are the briscuit, sausage, cole slaw and cookies. We’ve been going every week or two as it’s so good!

Restaurant Review:

Fantastic barbecue spot! The food was absolutely excellent — packed with rich, smoky flavor and perfectly cooked. The sides are not to be missed; each one complemented the meal beautifully. 5 signature homemade sauces- mix and match til your hearts content. The owner even came over to check on us, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. Service was excellent from start to finish. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves great barbecue and genuine hospitality!
