We went there around 7 pm, my husband ordered a medium oxtail and white rice, that was $20 and we got home, there were lots of bones and very little meat on the oxtail; I called and they just said I’m sorry and then the woman hung up on me. So rude. Never going back there again.

I knew this place was the real deal as soon as I saw the beef patty flake in my hands. It was delicious and so was my jerk chicken, peas and rice and cabbage. The chicken had the perfect spice – enough to clear my sinuses but not slow me down.

DON’T WASYE YOUR MONEY!!!
In this review I will state FACTS only and not my opinions. I had the unfortunate opportunity to experience this Jamaican facility.
I will Not refer to it as a restaurant because that it is NOT.
1. I walked in at 7:30pm Tuesday, June 4, 2024. There was No food in the window and I asked if they were closed. The young lady said no.
2. I asked the price of a small Oxtail the you lady said “15.00,”.
3. I asked if they had stew chicken and the young lady said “yes”.
4. I ended up ordering a small “JERK chicken and asked for no rice or plantain, only cabbage with gravy on the cabbage.
5. This cost me $10.00
When I got to my vehicle I noticed that the container was IcE cold.
These SCUMBAGS sold me COLD food.
The chicken was OLD and the food was cold.
I went back in the “restaurant” and the young lady said ” they close at nine and that take the food off the hot water.

The manager said she wouldn’t give me my money back and “I should have noticed that the food was off the water to keep it hot and once you leave we can’t give you your money back, but I can warm it up for you”

She went to warm up food that should have been hot in the first place.
I walked out.
Keep the money and keep your food and feed it to a DOG.

The new owner is very friendly and the staff are awesome too. Well mannered, and the food is very good. I really like the way they’ve improved the place from how it was before. New look, same great Jamaican taste. This is real Jamaican Food. There is so much more great things that needs to be said about this place, but you’ll have to see it for your self. PS: Love their Jerk chicken.

The Owner needs to Get rid of that tall skinny rude guy that’s aways in the front with his rude miserable self ASAP!!! You can feel his low negative energy once you come in,he is very rude and very unprofessional
and always seems and act like he does NOT want to be there at all !!! My Husband and I have been going there for many many many years Even when the original owner was there and Never Ever had the This disrespectful experience that we had Encountered today !!!!! Even people from around the way that we know has also complained about this one particular
employee,most of them go to a new Jamaican restaurant
on suffolk ave ,which is exactly what my husband and I did TODAY we walked out of Big Taste and went to the new Jamaican spot and definitely had a way better service ,the food was great and we was even greeted as soon as we came in !!!! Such a big difference

I refuse to give people my money that is very rude and unprofessional or let people with their rude negative energy service me especially when it comes to touching or handling my food etc , this is very bad for the owner at Big Taste!!! he is definitely losing alot of loyal customers over this one particular rude employee!!!! We Definitely not going back there,we rather drive down to our Home Town in Brooklyn then to ever go back to Big Taste again…

Paid $17 plus tax for curry ox tail, peas and rice like 3sweet bananas and some cabbage. I think for that amount the food should be great. The food was horrible rice was dry no taste and looked like 2 days old ox tail had no curry in it. Terrible food and prices.
