The tasting menu comes with the half omakase or full. We did both. Fish quality is ok, nothing stood out. The miso soup was smooth. The slices are very thin and again portion is on the small side. The dessert at the end was great, the hand rolls are better than nigiri but otherwise would not order the omakase again. There are a lot other better sushi in the city for the same price.

Good for date nights or solo dining. A little crammed inside and dimly lit.

Went for SF Restaurant Week! There were two options, one little more premium than the other! Although it did include more dishes, I felt like a lot of them didn’t bring me joy, just felt like food to keep you busy. A couple of the dishes, maybe 2, on the whole list were good. My conclusion, food mid and too expensive but the service was nice and the restaurant is cute! I prefer Nara sushi to this place though

We came here during lunch time. Tried 5 pcs and 8 pcs nigiri set. Each nigiri was well seasoned. It’s average quality not really impressed. However, salmon skin and okura dish it’s truly special. Refreshing and tasted just the right amount of seasoning. They offer variety of sake to choose from as well.
Down side, not much of service but they added 20% tips automatically at the bill during lunch time. I truly think this is over priced.

Decent quality of food at a reasonable price. The uni-toro-kani bowl is a must try (good for sharing by 2-3 ppl as an appetizer). Service is a bit slow. The ambience is okay…there are too many flies on the patio and it’s disappointing, would recommend sitting indoors.

We came here for the handroll tasting but their website hasn’t been updated.. so we ended up doing their regular testing instead. There were some interesting options thrown in. The nigiris felt a little short but we were happy they included uni. The restaurant is small so I recommend making a reservation so you’re not stuck with their outdoor seating in the back.

20% gratuity is automatically added bringing the total to $234.. not a terrible price given the area.. but definitely not the best value.

Big shout-out to Josh who held on to the credit card I left behind!

got the shio tasting. the fish tasted a day old. the wasabi used tasted like horseradish. the non nigiri dishes were the best. the supplements were good but all the nigiri pieces were so mid, and way too much horseradish.

sake selection was weak at best. really disappointing because the reviews were so good! maybe the quality dropped since then? idk. the restaurant was empty when we got there at 6pm on a friday…

also the table we were seated at had ac blowing so hard. my favorite dishes were the miso soup and the sorbet for dessert

COVID protocols were great. They took our temperature at the door. This is the first restaurant I’ve been to that has done that. Good spacing between the tables. The server was very considerate of when he needed to enter into our space. Gloves were worn the whole time. Everything was paperless from the menu to the final bill. They changed/cleaned the tablet in between patrons even though two other tables around me were ready to pay the bill at the same time. Bonus is that they’re one of the few sushi restaurants on the Eater SF list that is open on Mondays! Food tasted fantastic, and the chef was able to accommodate the omakase menu to be compliant with my diabetic needs. Great value for the price, also. I highly recommend!

We first tried Sushi Shio for delivery and were impressed by the quality and presentation of the take out – we knew we had to try the dine in experience. The restaurant ambience was comfortable, welcoming, and upscale. We tried the “Haku” omakase with seven courses for $59 per person. So worth it. Our favorites were the scallop sumono, marinated abalone, red and white miso soup, and kanpachi nigiri. Will definitely go back again!

Average Omakase in the city – $90 for 3 small dishes, 10 nigiri, and one dessert. I love the supplements the best – the Wagyu with white truffle was my favorite. The nigiris from the regular tasting set unfortunately didn’t meet my expectation; some cut was not quite fresh. And the texture of the crab from the appetizer was quite tough. We had the a la carte yellowtail collar last time – it was very tender and yummy! Overall fair price comparing to other Omakase in SF but I really hope they keep up with the fish quality.

Amazing Omakase and dry sake pairing. Reservation for one at the bar with amazing service. The first sake was a bit sweet for my liking and we created a new extremely dry sake tasting which I liked better with the Omakase and should hopefully make the menu. The Uni was perfect. Great atmosphere and early seating you get the bar to yourself.
