Picked up carryout from Artichoke Basille’s Pizza in Jersey City and everything was fantastic. The Vodka Sicilian slice was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, and the Vodka Pepperoni Sicilian was next-level — perfectly crispy, cheesy, and loaded with pepperoni. The White Slice was also excellent, with a great balance of cheese that wasn’t overpowering. Slices were fresh, generous in size, and held up really well for takeout.

Inconsistent & sloppy. My first experience here (depicted) was a solid 8.5/10 slice with a great taste and texture that was worthy of sharing with friends.
Unfortunately, both of my following visits fell terribly short of expectations with messy slices that didn’t hold up to their own weight and were more greasy, saucy, and floppy. This was especially disappointing because we waited 10-15min for a fresh pie so I thought it’d slap.
I have yet to try their other options, but if you’re going to be called Artichoke Pizza, you’ve got to have that dialed in.
I will note that the overall taste is amazing. Just kills it when the other pieces don’t fall into place.

I’ll probably be back though. Just not in a hurry.

Can’t believe we’ve been missing out on this place. Loved the crispy crust, rich and flavorful sauces, and delicious toppings. The person at the counter was super friendly and hardworking. A great pizza spot in the neighborhood—highly recommend!

My friend and I were heading home after the bar, and of course, we needed to feed the liquor. So we walked around for a bit. There is this one pizza spot near the bar we go to, but never get their pizza because it truly is giving government cheese, and I stay away from that madness. I remembered that Artichoke was nearby, and was hoping that it wasn’t closed yet because it was pretty late. Thankfully, they were open and we stopped by. They still had quite a few options left for it to had been so late, which was perfect. I ended up getting a pepperoni slice, which was juuuust right (in my Goldie Locs voice). It wasn’t giving government cheese at all, but I knew this because I had been to Artichoke before in Astoria. My friend however, hadn’t been before, and so he was pleasantly surprised that it was actual pizza of quality. He enjoyed his slice as well. It hit the spot. Perfect for all your hangover needs lol. Or, you know, if you just crave some good pizza! It also had cute decor, good music, and the woman who took our orders and served us was nice. We’ll be back for sure!

I absolutely love their artichoke pizza and garlic knots! And let me tell you, their sauce is to die for. The prices? So reasonable, you won’t believe it. And the best part? The food is always fresh. It’s the perfect spot for grabbing some takeout. Oh, and don’t even get me started on their quiche and meatball pizza. They’re decent, but as a veggie person, I wish they had more options for me. Nonetheless, it’s still a nice place to satisfy your cravings.

Got takeout today, the iconic artichoke slice, the crab slice and a can of coke. $16 even. Slices were huge! Crab was good, a lot of flavors and ingredients going on, crust was stiff, not flimsy at all. The artichoke slice was a bit salty and HEAVY. Very rich and a bit overwhelming, perhaps some lemon slices to cut through it. I’d go back to try slices from the 13 pies offered in the case.

Come here at least once a week and love their pizza. I recommend their crab, pepperoni and margarita slices and their pies are amazing. In a great location too just a 4 minute walk from the Grove Street Path train.

Came here late night for pizza. Tastes amazing and fresh. The slices are big and the crust was crunchy for the flat crust pizza’s. Less that 5min wait for them to serve up my food. Nice people and quick service. There’s seating inside and outside with a bathroom for paying customers. Lovely little spot

Let me start by saying that I eat Artichokes all the time. It used to be my favorite pizza shop. Unfortunately the quality lately has been inconsistent. It all depends on who is making the pie. The past two Fridays (4/5 & 3/29) I have ordered pies and they have been awful. They are undercooked, floppy, have far too much sauce, sliding cheese, and are of just poor quality. See attached photo.

I should mention, that when the original pizza chef is there the pies are immaculate every time. Perfect under carriage, great sauce and cheese ratio, and a crispy crust. I hope that the original pizza chef can teach the other ppl here how to make a proper pie so that this problem discontinues and I can go back to enjoying the pizza here.

I’m happy to revisit & revise this review when this problem discontinues. But as of today, artichokes is a terribly inconsistent place to order pizza.

Can Artichoke Pizza ever go wrong? Tried the vodka and the sicilian slices which took me 3 years back when I tried them for the first time near times square. Has only 4-5 chairs to sit but it’s more of a grab and go place. Highly recommended.
