It looks like the menu has changed again, which is a bit disappointing since we enjoyed the previous dishes that are no longer available. Everything we ordered was still good, just that we miss the other options. We had scallop, beef with tomato, and salted egg pumpkin. Our favorite dish was the pumpkin. Service is still excellent, and the restaurant decor is the same-taking us back to 80s or 90s classic Taiwan.

Out of all the new restaurants I’ve tried lately, Imperial Feast has definitely been my favorite! The crispy fish with rice was the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve ordered that dish at plenty of places. The steak with noodles was also spot on; I ordered it medium-well, and the meat was still tender and flavorful. The lady at the front and our waitress were both so friendly, and the overall vibe was great. It was packed on Saturday night, but we were seated right away. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

It’s an authentic Taiwanese place. The food is tasty, the service is great, and the place is very comfortable. They play good music for dining. They have adjusted their menu and some are not listed on their menu that you probably need to ask if they have what you saw on Google map at the moment. You will enjoy food here.

The fried dishes were majorly lacking in flavor, which is disappointing bc I grew up on it and was eager to find an authentic Taiwanese eats spot. The breading was also way too thick, and with the blandness, it’s all I tasted. In addition to seasoning more, I would recommend cutting the squid into bite-sized pieces and not using such thick cuts of the chicken cutlet for the rice dish (they were both difficult to fit into mouths).
The portion sizes were good at least.
My husband got the sizzling pepper steak dish which was more flavorful.
Since we went during soft opening, they weren’t serving dessert yet, which looks like is their best menu item according to the other reviews.

Every dish we had was incredible! High quality ingredients & delicious. Would highly recommend the braised tofu, braised beef brisket, & basil chicken (all pictured here). Can’t wait to go back!

As many others have noted, things have changed. A lot. We went back when they were in Frisco and it was good.

They moved to Carrollton and it was good, but the place was pretty small. Some dishes were inconsistent but overall good.

They moved to Plano and place was bigger and nicer. Food was still good last time we went in Nov. Just went in Feb and menu is completely different! Who does that?!? And not that good, either

Must’ve lost the chef. We won’t be going back.

I have to say that Mei Wei is very disappointing.
The medium-rare beef turned out to be fully cooked, and the fried rice noodles were so soft that you couldn’t taste the flavor of the rice noodles.
The only difference between braised pork ribs and fried pork ribs was that there was a little more braised meat juice on top.
The appetizers were the best but they were very salty.
The most incredible thing is that desserts are served with the main meal together in the same time. Should I eat dessert first or eat the main course first and watch the ice melt?
The training of the staff there may not be complete.
They are so messy that they don’t know what they are doing.
They miscalculated the money.
The meals were not given to us but they kept saying they were. These things all happened to us.
Also, the dining area is extremely small, so it’s not the best for large parties.
This place is built on Taiwanese nostalgia, but doesn’t live up to the hype.

We came here a few occasions, first time leaving a review. I enjoyed the fried pork and rice previously. Not sure what happened this time, something doesn’t taste as good as previously. I think a small soup will be better with the rice and fried pork.

However, my wife loved her beef noodles. It was sold out previously. The beef stew rice is pretty good as well.

Here are my reviews as 5 is very satisfy.

Taste 4/5
Temperature 4/5
Speed of service 4/5
Attentiveness and courteous 4/5
Cleanliness 4/5

Will I return? Yes.
Will I recommend? Yes.

Visited this location and found out that my previous reviews were at the Carrollton location. Looks like the Carrollton location was move to Plano. Many pictures were taken at the Carrollton location not this location. The menu was also different at this Plano location.

We enjoyed the food but just confused with the postings.

I have been here multiple times and the food is generally very good. The problem is I’ve seen at least 3 different iterations of their menu now. With their most recent one being just absolutely terribly designed with less options now. Some of my favorites in the past are gone now. Their 白菜滷 was so good! Why is it gone? I was suggested something in else as a substitute and it was basically a soup instead??? And it’s strange that they went to this word only menu when these types of dishes are typically more unique. So it’s tough to get a gauge on what you’re eating especially if you’re not familiar with Taiwanese cuisine.

Having said all that, I’m still giving it 4 stars because the food is genuinely good. But man, their menu/service could be better. Stop taking away your food options!

They just opened so I’m sure they are ironing things out. We used to go to their Frisco location and everything was always good but there were certainly things that could be improved on when we went to this location today. We ordered the fried pork and rice set with popcorn chicken. It was very crowded and the food took a long time to come out (hopefully this will get better in time). The flavor of everything was good but the fried pork cutlet had two big pieces (on each end) that were all fried breading. It looked like the cutlet was a certain size but the meat parts of the two end slices fell out when it was cut or something?? It was just all breading and no meat, which meant we only got four slices of meat and it felt like we didn’t get our money’s worth. Also they forgot to give us our popcorn chicken and we had to go back and ask for it. It was a small portion for the price. We didn’t try their dessert offering but will go back to try them some other time. Hope the experience is better if we come back.
