Such an awesome cafe! Perfect for a short stop, or to take something to go. Even better for hanging out for awhile. I brought my computer with me, used their free wifi and outlets, and enjoyed the atmosphere and views for 4+ hours while I worked. The biscuit is the best biscuit I’ve ever had (and I’m from the mainland in the south east — home of biscuits), and the rest of the food was delicious too. The employees are so kind and helpful. Definitely will be coming back!

Lovely cafe. The food was a lot better than I expected. I’m used to Starbucks, so getting freshly baked bread for the avocado toast, BIG egg bites, and wonderfully fresh fruit in the morning is a.

I also thoroughly enjoyed my housemade chai, and usually I don’t like coffee but my wife ordered the ube latte and it was fire

The view on the balcony is beautiful overlooking the ocean, and if you choose to eat inside it’s just as nice. The 70s music is a great contribution to the vibe as well

Great experience overall.

Honestly, it’s almost been a year since we visited this cafe with our one year old and we still talk about it. It was an early morning visit for us and we were hungry. We ordered cold brews with the egg, cheese, and bacon biscuits, a side of fresh fruit, and the homemade banana loaf. It was all SO delicious. Our daughter was not eating well on the trip, but she loved the banana loaf – and so did we – so we bought more to go before leaving. Not only was the food delicious, fresh, and homemade, the atmosphere was modern, relaxing, and very inviting. Our table faced the beach along the Windward Shore. Honestly, what more could you ask for. We will be back one day and we will be doing the farm tours!

Beautiful view beautiful food! A lot of thought we t to this food and it did not totally disappoint. Rated 4 for food because even though everything was unique and perfect, the orange juice was not given a thought and was poured from a grocery store jug. This place would be 5 stars if their juice was legit straight from an orange like many places have. I gave service a 4 because the girls up front were more focused on cleaning and cooking than in service. A smile would have been nice being that they deal with tourists. Overall, I would definitely come back again!

This place is really cute, and the view that they have is amazing. Their matcha isn’t great but their lattes are very good (though on the pricier side). You get a nice breeze if you sit outside but it does get kinda hot inside

I like the area and atmosphere right by the ocean and old Crouching Lion. Food is good but it lacks a certain sauce to tie it all together. Aeoli sauce maybe? The drinks and coffee are incredible. Great tasting. Overall good but not great.

Great staff, great coffee, but might need to work on food & pastry choices. Not a lot to choose from in my opinion. We had the scone, blueberry muffin, and macaroon, and all were pretty tough to chew.
Nice view of the ocean outside and plenty of seating available. Also good free parking situation. Tried the lavender latte and mocha latte, it was delicious!

Hala Tree Cafe was a HIT!!

My friend and I were going to stop by on our way home a few weeks ago, but we had to postpone due to the tsunami warning ⚠️

My mom and I were on our way to Lā’ie to visit the Mormon Temple, so we had to stop by the Hala Tree Cafe for brunch since it was on the way. ☕️

The portions are very generous, and the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. For most items there are half & full options. We ordered full sized portions since we were going to be out for quite some time, and it was perfect.

I ordered the smoked salmon toast, which was topped with arugula, red onions, and capers. The bread is DELICIOUS

My mom ordered the avocado toast, which is also topped with arugula, as well as cherry tomatoes and Hawaiian sea salt.

As for little Miss Izzy — she got the breakfast platter, which consisted of a homemade biscuit (more like an English scone) with blueberry compote and butter on the side, two cheddar egg bites, and a bowl of fresh blueberries and pineapple.

Can’t forget about the drinks! It is a coffee shop, after all. My mom ordered an iced jasmine tea (unsweetened), and I couldn’t resist trying their matcha with mango purée & coconut syrup. I chose coconut milk as my milk of choice, but they do have other options.

I can’t wait to come back for the views & the food. 10/10 for sure!
