Perfect diner. Diner coffee, diner food, diner prices, and diner friends. Maybe you’re hungry for more than the standard, impersonal, “heat and serve,” restaurant. Rae’s will hit the spot.
There are not many places like this left in the world. I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to sit on the stool.
Btw. Had two eggs and wheat toast (over medium). Masterfully cooked. Very impressed.

Fast and friendly service. I love the cozy diner feel. Reminds me of the charm of the local neighborhood diner where I grew up in Detroit – where everyone new each other, ate a small meal, and drank fresh coffee. There’s counter service with stools! Not many places like this exist anymore so this is a real gem. Not the best place for a large group, but a few people and they’ll take care of you. They seem pretty busy, but are on top of the orders. The food is hot, fresh, decent portions, and fairly priced. It’s better quality than the typical fast-food in my opinion but it’s diner food. The fries are great with 2 different options to choose from. They have a breakfast menu and lunch menu. This is gonna be a frequent stop when in the area.

The food was very good. Customers interacted with each other. Best place for home cooked food.

Traveling from Kalamazoo, I found this place on Google and the positive reviews drew me in. We walked in and it was a very tiny diner. The owner and his son ran the diner pretty well and they made great food. Sadly because of hard times, the diner is closing. I really hope that this family can keep making amazing food ❤️ best of luck to you!

Friendly environment but the food was not good. My husband and I went there because really, what else is there in albion, and after one bite of his omelet, he was nauseous. The service is exceptional. I really think though that my husband was served spoiled sausage in his sausage gravy. The little individual creamers for coffee had a few chunky ones. Not what I was hoping for in a meal.

My new guilty pleasure. When you think of off the beaten path, hole in the wall, best restaurant you’ve ever ate at, THIS IS IT! Comfort food at its finest. The biscuits and gravy are out of this world, as are the omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, and corn beef hash. Great portions, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. ❤️

Had a wonderful breakfast in this hole in the wall dinner. Seriously, best sausage gravy I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Hash browns were perfect, eggs were delicious. Highly recommend.

OK, say you’re driving on I-94 and you need breakfast or lunch. Skip the plastic national chains. Jump off the highway and make a (very quick) beeline for this tiny spot. It’s been in the same place in one form or another since 1927! Classic American fare, totally affordable, and you will definitely feel that you went to a unique little place in the American heartland.

Great food and good prices. Coffee was good and the breakfast burrito with all the veggies and all 3 meats was excellent. I also ordered a swiss burger to go and it was also very good.
