Curries, fried rice & other Thai classics draw locals to this relaxed, longtime eatery with a patio.

Loved this spot for Thai. Great flavors, next level. The presentation of each dish is noteworthy. Nice comfortable and clean restaurant. The lunch pricing is good value for the food quality.

Arriving in town and searching for a quick meal on my first night, I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I didn’t anticipate much, but the Drunken Noodles were by far the best I’ve had in the U.S. Even though I’m only here for a few days, I’m already planning a return visit. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back!

Best Thai food place hands down. Everything is so fresh and tasty, cooked to order. They use quality ingredients in the dishes. Their Crab Rangoons are the best i ever tasted. Small dine in area creates an intimate atmosphere for a lovely experience. The new menu is optimized and is wonderful. I appreciated the recommendations from the gentleman waiting tables. The dish was perfect and was just what I was in the mood for.

Mekhong Thai is “The Place” to go!!! The food is delicious flavor, incredibly tasty & made my day!! I have been many times in the past & just need anyone interested to go for dine-in or take-out. The staff is very welcoming, uplifting & happy to see you.

I have been a long time customer for over 10 years, I would drive over an hour from MA to get their delicious chicken wings and amazing fried spring rolls, both were the best I had ever had anywhere! But they are now under new management and they changed all their food, but not for the better. After paying over a hundred dollars for my food, I took it home to find the most generic chicken wings completely unseasoned like something you would get reheated at a gas station, a far cry from their deliciously sweet and savory marinated wings that I so fondly remember. Their spring rolls were once beautifully hand rolled and filled plump with fresh ingredients, but the measly spring rolls I had last night tasted like they were bought frozen in bulk. What was once the best hidden secret in Kennebunkport has become a culinary tragedy.
After many years of amazing food, stellar service, and fantastic memories, I’m sad to say that we won’t ever be returning unless I know for certain they’ve gone back to their old recipes. This was once a restaurant that once proudly served presidents, but I wouldn’t serve what I ate last night to my dog. A sad meal indeed.

New management changed all the once beloved recipes. Food is disgusting now and nothing being done to compensate customers. I went back into your location the following morning to ask what the hell happened with my order. Staff was kind and apologetic but management was nowhere to be found, cowardly hiding from their poor choices. No one has made any attempt to refund my inedible order or compensate in any way: A truly impeccable reputation has been tossed in the trash. I am offended I was even served the food and expected to be “tricked” into thinking it was the same. Be ashamed, you will not be open long with the way things are currently being run.

A lot has been said about the demise of Mekhong Thai since the new ownership took over recently. I am here to let the locals know that the rumors are not true and the food is as authentic and delicious as ever. We got the pad thai, fried rice, green curry and a wide array of appetizers – all were spectacular. When in need of a switch up from local Maine fair, Mekhong never disappoints and offers generous portions at a great price point.

The environment here is very nice, especially with the repeat customers. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I have to say that they make the best peanut sauce. The Thai tea was good and always a treat. I got Pho, or Beef Noodle Soup as it says on the menu. The broth flavor was good and plenty of meat and noodles to fill a hungry stomach.
It is a face paced restaurant due to increased customers and lack of employees. Remember to be patient as it is worth the wait. Enjoy your meal.

Mekhong Thai never disappoints! Hands down the best Thai food in the area – their green curry, thai fried rice, spring rolls and chicken satay are standouts but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Delicious as always!

Had a great meal with a family of 6, including 2 kids. The dishes were all flavorful, leaning more towards sweet than salty. All the adults loved their dishes (Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice, Broccoli Stir Fry) and the kids loved picking from our plates. The service was sometimes slow, but the servers were all very nice. Not sure about the recent low reviews, I’ve had Thai food all over the world, and this is definitely in the top 20% I’ve had.
