Lemon pepper garlic Wings- 10/10. Six wings for $10 was good value. The sauce taste authentic and you can see the nice garlic chunks. Perfectly crispy fried and the wings taste fresh I’d ordered these again.
Fries-good choice of fries with good seasoning/tasty. A little oily
Steak Arepa- 8/10 good value, loaded with meat. Tasty Arepa bread and nice avocado ranch sauce. The meat could’ve been more tender and sliced in a way that’s easier to chew. The container was chopped onions, tomatoes, and cilantro with overpowering jalapeño.
Tuna Ceviche-10/10 she said it was spicy, but it’s not that spicy. It’s like hot sauce spicy. It’s very tasty. I know you think I’m brave for trying ceviche from a restaurant connected to a gas station. I thought it was great. I’m going to check my stomach the next day to see but so far so good with the chips and avocado. This was the only ceviche without shrimp.
Birria tacos-9/10. I thought I asked for no cheese, but they still came with cheese. Please check your food before you leave if you make an alteration. The meat was tasty and the taco shell was a good choice. The Birria dip sauce was flavorful, but it is oily so be careful not to spill. Green sauce good.
I’d come back here/recommend and try a few more options like the steak and a few other taco options. Good parking availability, when it gets packed you may have to be creative with parking. No major complaints really. Wanted more veggie options. In a different location, they’d probably be packed more often.
So, about the steak, requested medium, got well. Server took the plate but didn’t ask if I wanted it redone or if I wanted something else. In fact, she never came back. She actually spent a lot of time at the end of the bar, on her phone.
And speaking of bar, she couldn’t make our drink order. The lady who took over our table made the drink (it was very good- the best thing we had). Her service was good, hence the 2 stars, but the lady who started out serving us was more interested in her phone conversation as she walked around on the phone with her airpods in. Go figure.
Muchacho Alegre was super easy to find as it’s right on the main strip. Parking is easy as it sits in a small strip plaza so I was able to pull in, park, and get to my Muchacho Alegre experience.
Muchacho Alegre is nice and casual on the inside. As soon as I walked in, the bartender welcomed us and advised us to sit where we desired. Once seated, the bartender was at our table with the more personal hello and providing us with a smile and our menus.
After scrolling the menu for a few I decided on the Birria Tacos (of course I did) and a Sweet Tea.
As I waited on my order I was able to enjoy the ambiance. The music was vibrant, the setting was casual enough for a friend night, yet intimate enough for a date night. Very versatile. Very nice neighborhood option. Very demure (LoL).
When my food came it was time to throw down.
Meaty. Juicy. Nicely Seasoned. Shell fried perfectly. And the consumé was well seasoned, fresh, and not greasy.
Whoever was in the back cooking understood the assignment with my Birria Tacos. Shout out to the chef.
Muchacho Alegre was a nice experience. Good price point. Good food. Good service. Good location. All around GOOD!!!!! Get you some.
