We actually came upon this place by accident due to a gps error. The valet Trey hooked us up by checking to see if they had room. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat our party. The environment feels like fine dining but the staff is so friendly and personable. After Amanda seated us and ran through the gluten free options, our server Victoria was so patient with our dietary restrictions. She was so nice, and knowledgeable about the preparation of the food, the ingredients, and the chef’s vision for each dish. The food was so delicious and the flavor profiles were so rich, but highlighted the freshness of the ingredients. The parsnip soup specifically was like nothing I’ve ever had before. I had the salmon, and my parents got the sea bass and lobster. They both said it was the best fish they’d ever tasted, and I agreed! It was my birthday, and I have type 1 diabetes, so I wasn’t going to do dessert. She knew exactly what to do, and brought out an espresso on a plate wishing me a happy birthday. It was so kind, and after the meal she hooked us up with some postage paper with marigold seeds pressed into it. It was such a nice signature after an insanely delicious meal.

Stunning setting. Enjoy the patio outside, or the incredibly designed dining room. This is the type of restaurant that makes me want to be an interior designer. The food and service are both top notch. Smaller menu, but each item I’ve purchased has been delectable. I think you get what you pay for and I will keep coming here.

Absolutely loved our experience at Marigold by Jean-Georges! The food was exceptional — creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch from start to finish; everyone was attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and versatile — perfect for a romantic date night or a special celebration. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an elevated dining experience that still feels approachable. Food is on the higher side but super delicious.

Was part of a larger party for the brunch menu- I ordered the eggs Benedict. The most bland eggs Benedict I’ve ever eaten- the “bread” I along with everyone else who ordered the eggs Benedict- could barely cut through. It was dry and hard. The potatoes, hard and cut the top of your mouth. Everyone wished there was some sort of seasoning or sauce anything to save this “meal” the tuna tartar was its saving grace.

This is to share what a wonderful experience my parents and I had at your restaurant last week. From start to finish, everything was exceptional.

The food was fantastic, and the service was equally impressive. Our server, Stephen, was professional, polite, and provided excellent details regarding the menu offerings.

We truly enjoyed our evening and look forward to returning soon. Thank you!

We visited this place for our Anniversary mid January. We ate here for our Anniversary dinner, and were staying at Keswick. The food was delicious, and we ended up eating brunch here later in the week.

Ambiance is very nice.
Although our server was very nice, he was not very familiar with the menu. Two of the items he described, he described incorrectly, and because we chose these items based on his descriptions, we were a little surprised when our choices arrived at our table.
The egg toast was okay…the best part of the appetizer was the caviar. The congealed cold egg yolks didn’t have much flavor. The salmon was very overcooked. The rigatoni was very good, however, as was the pavlova. The tahitian vanilla was just a very small scoop of regular vanilla.
I’m glad we were able to experience Marigold but it was not our best meal in Charlottesville and did not compare to Jean Georges’ restaurants in NY.

Had an old fashioned and a martini, both were great. The Old Fashioned had cardamom in it. A little different, but good. I had the roasted chicken. Very strong dill, which is all you could taste. Waitress and menu state that it comes with “crusty potatoes”, they are potato chips. Really, potato chips. Chicken was well cooked and very juicy. But when you debone a piece of chicken, you should always press the place where the end of the bones were to make sure you get the grizzly bone tips out. Obviously not done here.
My wife had the scallops. Large and well cooked. Problem is, they were setting in a pool of ground mustard, which completely overwhelms the scallops.
We also had the calamari appetizer. They were obviously frozen pre battered. Very strong taste of the oil they were cooked in.
Initially we were going to hang out and enjoy our cocktails. But the waitress advised us that the chef wanted to have our complete order all at once. Fine. But then it all came out pretty quick. We were there for 55 minutes, and had completed our meal, no time to set and enjoy our anniversary before the main course came out.
Overall we were very disappointed. We heard so many great things about this place. But to her defense, when my wife voiced her opinion about the scallops, the waitress took them off the bill, thank you!

Great place for a romantic or celebratory dinner. The service is so welcoming and the food is incredible. I recommend the Thai basil soup, truffle pizza, and crispy sushi. If you get seating on the patio, you get a beautiful view of the golf course. The inside is just as nice, and I recommend it for a more intimate feeling. This is a great dinner spot to start or end your trip to this part of Virginia and worth the drive.

We had a delightful ladies lunch after visiting the Southern Living Design House. The venue is gorgeous with really beautiful views. Our server, Ibeth, was fantastic. I had the Sunset Spritz cocktail which was delicious. Others had the ginger margarita, Ocean View and Cordial Mocktail. For food we ordered the cheeseburger, french toast, eggs benedict and radicchio salad – we all enjoyed our meals. Definitely worth a visit for great food in a beautiful setting.
