Where in California can you get a deep dish pizza for $20?! Nowhere but D20. It was so good. Thick, chewy crust, with ample cheese and toppings beautifully crafted. Plus a gigantic chopped caesar salad artfully dusted with fresh parmesan for only $9! I was astounded and immediately in love. There are board games aplenty for passing the time before, during, and after eating. Fantastic way to spend an afternoon with family and friends.

Delicious pizza joint that serves Detroit style pizza! Perfect stop as we just left Ano Nuevo State Park.
One pizza (this is the Detroiter) was more than enough for two people with a Cesar salad. The place also has fun arcade games and board games all over the place!! Fluffy bread with ultra crispy crust and beautiful toppings. We’ll be back soon!

OMFG if you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and try it out for yourself. I was skeptical of this unassuming new place with fairly high prices and small pizzas. But I’m really glad I took the risk because this was the best tasting pizza I’ve ever had in my life! I had the one with cherry tomatoes and corn on it. The cheese got baked into a sinfully delicious crisp around the edge of the pan. The bread part was spongy and moist. The toppings went together perfectly, very tasty. The whole thing had a grilled kind of flavor. Great location and also there’s very convenient parking.

This place has an awesome concept with tons of potential. They have a bunch of games and trivia night which is great for groups. D20 could be a great spot for people to hang out and have fun with some good food. However, there are some problems that gotta be solved asap. First, they only have two beers on tap and two wine options. Im willing to overlook that because the pizza is good, but when we ordered two different pizzas (pesto and detroiter), we noticed they both had the same base sauce but with different toppings. That would be fine for some combinations, but for two very different pizza types you would expect them to actually be different. The trivia was okay, but they had no speaker system and the poor guy was awkwardly shouting out to the whole restaurant the entire game that lasted like 2 hours. Otherwise the place was clean, there were tons of games to choose from, and the pizza was actually good despite my nitpicking. I would love to see this place get big in santa cruz. I will be back and I look forward to giving D20 5 stars.

I went to D20 Pizza late Tuesday night and was overall very impressed. Very delicious Detroit style pizza, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of space, and very friendly owner and staff. I definitely felt I got my money’s worth. I bought a Super Shroom pizza and got a drink.
I was suprised a place in Santa Cruz would be open near 11pm on a weekday, and every more surprised at the quality of the experience. Felt safe, clean, professional, yet also super fun.
To be fair, the place is currently a work in progress. I heard they are going to get new signage and additional lighting soon. They have a growing board game library and are working on filling out their schedule with more events (drop-ins are totally fine too). What they have now is great, and the place sounds like it will get even better with time.

Ok, this place is a find. It’s a gaming room with fantastic Detroit style pizza. Have a club? They should meet here. Just want great pizza that’s unique in the area, get a pie. There are a ton of board games available for the customers to use, and the place is clean and bright.

Very delicious pizza! We had The Detroiter! It’s 27 or so after tax. I know it seems like a lot, but I do think it’s worth it. I was hungry and three slices filled me up, while my partner who had already eaten felt satisfied by the one slice.
Parking lot has zero lighting, so it was a bit unnerving to park at 9pm
The games on the table were really fun!

I dropped in during their soft pre-opening to get a pizza to go. Very tasty ‘seasonable vegetable’, I’m looking forward to trying some others.

Yummy pizza and cool atmosphere. My favorite is the Endless Summer pizza. The dough is incredible. Lots of board games available to play. Themed game nights and trivia (although I’ve yet to attend either).
