I came across this cafe as I was walking across the parking lot not knowing a new establishment had opened here. It is easy to miss because the space is pretty small, but definitely worth checking out. I was excited to see some offerings for some avocado toast and matcha beverages so I decided to stop in for an afternoon treat after work. Modern Hippie Cafe did not disappoint on food quality or service. The matcha was creamy (mine was a coconut milk/half and half split), not overly sweet (perfect for me), and balanced well with the cinnamon added. The Heat Lover toast was wonderful with just the right amount of heat balanced with the avocado and added micro greens and peppers. I’m excited to go back and try some of the sandwich and bowl options here as well. The space is small and the theming doesn’t stand out in my opinion, but they make it work. Not a ton of seating, and I wouldn’t plan to meet here with a large group. The two women working when I came in were incredibly friendly. I was even that customer that came in during the last 10 minutes before closing and they welcomed me in with smiles, recommendations, and had my toast and matcha up in about 5 minutes. I will definitely be back to try other offerings!

This place has such a great atmosphere. It’s decorated nicely and the staff are so helpful, friendly, and playful.
The food was delicious and very fresh, but definitely smaller portions. I also got drip coffee, which was the best drip I’ve had in a long time. Most places, it’s a bit stale or burned, but the coffee here was smooth and tasted great. I’ll definitely be back, many times over.

Wow! What a fabulous addition to the food scene in Bonney Lake!
This place is absolutely great!
Lisa and I walked in today, as we hadn’t noticed this place before, and were we impressed. It opened within the last two weeks, and these owners are already in their comfortable stride…
The menu is diverse, with great options for foodies like us (vegan, organic, whole plant-based foods). Plenty of organic, whole healthy ingredients… They are very accommodating to our food flavor preferences.
We had the 24 ounce Ritual smoothie, the Garden Party sandwich (with the sourdough bread toasted), and also the Chia Pudding and the PB Choc Chunk Snackballs for a nice mid-afternoon sweet. So fresh. So flavorful. So delightful.
We met the owners, Jess and Sydney, who are clearly in a mission to bring better food options to us locals… And they will win, because they lead from their hearts with passion for food and for people.
The restaurant is a charming space, which I expect will become packed as word gets out… This new restaurant won’t fly under the radar for long, word will get out to foodies that this is the place to go.
Everything was very reasonably priced too, which is pleasant, considering the value and the quality, and above all, the delicious taste.
We have found out new favorite spot for fresh delicious food in Bonney Lake.

So I’ve been wanting to try this place and had time to connect with a friend of mine, and wow was I blown away!!! First of all the girls working could have been my best friends of 10 years you would have never known I just met them and it was my my first time in! Also the food amazing wow I will be back the toast and the smoothie were so good and so many options I wanted to go back later that Sam day to try the grain bowls, so happy to have something like this out here in Bonney lake the girls know exactly what they are doing in there! Can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu !!!

Finally, a healthy choice in Bonney Lake! My wife and I have been waiting for something like the Modern Hippie to open here, and it absolutely didn’t disappoint.
Beyond the amazing menu, the entire experience was fantastic—the staff is incredibly friendly, and every “bite” we had was amazing. For those who like a little spice, I highly recommend the Southwest Soulwich, and you absolutely must try the Glow Bowl!
We’ll definitely be back soon and frequently. This place deserves 6 stars!

My smoothie bowl was delicious! Great recommendation from the staff and very friendly service. Can’t wait to visit again! The toasted sandwhichs that I smelled while enjoying my smoothie bowl smelled amazing so I need to try that next time! Would definitely recommend this place!!
