Authentic, top notch South Indian food, probably best in Durham. Limited street parking outside, but we were able to park in the lot near the restaurant which reads reserved for staff but apparently not in the evenings. You gotta use the washroom in the government building right next door which was a tad odd.

What an absolutely pleasant experience! The food was out of this world delicious and the service top notch. The pricing was fair for the amount of food that was given. The options are endless and the staff is willing to help direct you in the right direction to a delicious dish.

I would come back here again and soon!

This place is a gem. The food is incredible—especially the Chennai-style gobi and the Chettinad lamb. I love eating in the restaurant but when I got take out and forgot to grab my mango lassi, and they kindly drove it out to my home. They are so thoughtful, and the food is impeccable. I would rate them 6 stars ⭐️ just delicious

My new favorite indian restaurant. The place, staffs and food. Ordered a featured Cocktail “strawberry Smoked old fashioned ” , Max the mixologist put on a show of chamber smoking the drunk on the table. The food was amazing, Mr. PARSRAM, served us. I’m gonna recommend my friends and family for sure.

I visited Anjappar in Durham and had a great experience. The food was very tasty, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. I loved their traditional Indian-style serving plates. I ordered shrimp pepper fry, paneer burji, and chicken kadai — all were delicious. The meal ended perfectly with a sweet dessert. Highly recommend!

My fiance and I have been here twice so far and it is by far the best Indian food we’ve had here in NC. Dosas are delicious, chutneys are extremely flavorful, and the staff are beyond friendly, especially Anthony! Can’t recommend this restaurant enough, we will be returning soon!

Good ambience but okay food. We had lunch and took thalis (butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and chicken curry). The naan, pulao, raita tasted fine. Tandoori chicken however tasted bland. There was no difference between the butter chicken and tikka masala, the curry was good. This is good enough for a budget lunch thali but the quality of chicken seemed not the best.

So happy they’ve come to Durham!! The perfect place for phenomenal, comforting, tasty food. Everything was fresh, spiced well and hot! The flavors they put into their takes on classic are incredible. The hospitality by Ohm and his team was exceptional and the decor is a great tribute to Indian art and culture.

Amazing place to dine, traditional Indian cuisine keeping up with time, we heard from our friends and also about the service staffs, the bartender “MAX” is a guy who can create anything you desire, and the service he would let you experience, we heard about his one of the original cocktail “passion & desire ” create to keep couple on coordinated drinking as a activity, and Amazing as it was named. The food is amazing and the ambiance, try it.
