Food look and smell amazing (checked on other tables) our snacks were ok.
Would like to go back for pasta. Very busy place, I would recommend to book in advance if you don’t want to miss it.
We called in last month for lunch. Friendly service and some really good reliable wine options. Went for a whole range of things. The calamari is crisp, fresh and delicious, and the citrusy pistachio salad is really refreshing. The scallops are plump and really full of flavour. The special on this particular day was a fresh pasta stuffed with game in a flavoursome broth. Melt-in-the-mouth stuff!
It was a really chilled, lovely afternoon spent in there. Perfect ambience to catch-up with people over good, fresh Italian fare. Will happily return anytime.
The bonus is the delicious food from the kitchen. Always high quality food, wine and service.
Despite having a booking, we waited around 10 minutes to be seated, followed by nearly 40 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive. I could see the drinks sitting on the bar for quite some time before they were brought over. While I understand venues can be understaffed, there was no communication or acknowledgment of the delays.
At no point did any of the wait staff offer information about specials, recommendations, or insight into what was on offer. The service felt very closed off and purely transactional, plates were delivered, but there was little interaction beyond that. We often felt unnoticed.
Had there been more engagement, we would have happily stayed longer and ordered more drinks. Instead, the overall experience felt unwelcoming and impersonal. Given how much I had been looking forward to this visit, and by comparison how much I love 10 William( the staff there when I went this week were exceptional!!)
it was a real let-down. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return. Nor recommend.
Whist the Calamari and Tiramisu were standouts, the Risotto and Spaghetti and Scampi were good, but just missing that X factor, this place once had.
We found the waiting Staff lacked that care and attention that the prices here demand.
Perhaps like reconnecting with an ex girlfriend, it is rarely good, the same here, perhaps we just being nostalgic, but ii was not what it was for this particular visit.
