The food here was excellent and the service was even better. Our server Fanta was very kind and had a beautiful smile. The chef himself kept coming out and asking how things were, and served us fried plantains with a sauce without prompting.
Visit this food if you want authentic West African food!

1st time in Indianapolis. A Co Worker suggested trying African Cuisine and man was it such a cool experience. Did some research on a popular dish called fufu & egusi. This dish is eaten by pulling pieces of the fufu similar to am American ball of dough but made with Yams or Plaintains or Yuka and much better flavor than dough obviously. The Fufu is then pulled apart in pieces by hand and used for the Egusi. Egusi is a stew made with Chicken, Steak or Traditionally Goat. So we went Traditional and it was to die for and such an experience. We also tried the Jerk Chicken with a Spicy Rice also so good. I was so grateful to have stepped out of the box and tried this cuisine. The Owner was really cool and the staff was welcoming. If you read reviews like I always do this place is without a doubt a no brainer and life experience.

I’ve came here four times now during lunch. The first time I ordered I got the yasso chicken with rice. It was good but I tried my coworkers jerk chicken and have been hooked ever since. The jerk chicken has the right amount of spice. It’s never been over cooked. I got the jollof rice as well. They also give you a cup of onions & peppers in a flavored sauce. The amount of food you get can feed 2 people. I have called to order ahead a few times and the jerk chicken was already sold out. It was during last few hours before they closed which is understandable because they marinate the chicken ahead of time. I was bummed but rather have it marinated right than just thrown on during cooking. I’ve tried their plantains as well. They cut them up in small pieces but there is plenty to share. I personally think its the best jerk chicken in Indy. Closest comparison are the jerk chicken in Chicago. The workers are super friendly as well. I recommend Medina’s to everyone I know. Definitely a must try!!

This is one of the best African restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. The food is amazing. They have a Jamaican chef cooking West African cuisine. The flavors are very tasteful, I come here every time that I visit Indianapolis.

Amazing food! First time trying fufu and peanut butter stew. The lamb in the stew was so tender it was falling off my fork, and the fufu tasted great with it.

Also got fried tilapia, which was so so juicy and delicious. The man who brought our food out said that they like to eat this one all the time, and I can see why.

The food is amazing. And portions are beyond reasonable. I’ve had african food from all over Indiana and no where tops here. Not to mention they’re most affordable too. I love the atmosphere too. All around great restaurant!
