Switchback Steakhouse was an absolute standout for our latest date night. The atmosphere is dark and romantic, and with easy parking and a steady, well-paced service, the entire evening felt effortless. We started with the bread trio, and that cheese sauce is easily the best I’ve ever had! For drinks, both the Prickly Pear Margarita and the Prickly Pear Lemonade were incredibly flavorful and refreshing. My wife and I both went with the filet mignon topped with truffle butter, and they were cooked to absolute perfection. We paired them with the creamed spinach and the bacon mac and cheese, both of which were delicious. With so many steak and dessert options to choose from and a super friendly staff to guide you, this place is a must-visit.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Switchback grill while visiting Zion. The service was terrific. JT was our waiter. He was efficient and friendly and very helpful and engaging. The ribeye steak was grilled perfectly and was seasoned just right. Delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and had a cosy southwest design. Highly recommend.

We celebrated our three-year anniversary here last night and had such a wonderful experience. The restaurant has a warm western-inspired décor and the music created a relaxing, chill atmosphere. We ordered the bread, calamari, Caesar salad, salmon, and ribeye—everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The portions were generous, so we didn’t even have room for dessert! A great spot for a special occasion in Springdale.

The bread was phenomenal. The calamari also quite good. The meatloaf was huge portion and unique and super flavorful. Everyone’s steak was cooked to perfection and great flavor. Definitely not cheap, but the service and food quality make it make sense.

Switchback Steakhouse absolutely blew us away and deserves every one of these five stars. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. We started with a beer and a glass of wine to unwind after a long day exploring Zion, and things only got better from there.

We ordered the bread, Caesar salad, berry salad, and filets cooked medium rare—and every single item was excellent. The bread was warm and fresh, the Caesar was crisp with just the right amount of dressing, and the berry salad was refreshing and perfectly balanced. But the real star was the filet. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, it was tender, juicy, and full of flavor—easily one of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time.

What truly elevated the entire experience, though, was our waitress, Amber. She was astounding—attentive without being overbearing, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm and friendly. Amber made us feel like VIPs and turned an already great meal into an unforgettable one.

If you’re anywhere near Zion National Park and want a fantastic dining experience, do not miss Switchback Steakhouse. It’s a perfect mix of quality food, relaxed atmosphere, and exceptional service. Ask for Amber—you’ll be glad you did.

Absolutely incredible experience. Bison filet was probably the best steak I’ve ever had. JT was a great server. Highly highly recommend.

I rarely do any reviews online. But i felt the need to write about my experience. I enjoy going out to eat but its very little the amount of times that Im impressed.I was super impressed. Had an amazing experience at Switchback Grille. The food was beyond expectations. The service I received from JT was first class. He was the most attentive and the epitome of what great service is. Made the experience so worth it. Im not very easily impressed by service or food. But this place really sets the bar very high and blew my expectations.

Staff went above and beyond.
We were received very well and seated immediately.
Apps and drinks came very quickly.
We had almost every app but the crab cakes, scallops, and thick cut bacon really stood out.
For dinner i had the sausage plate with pickled veg and toasted baguette, with a side of potatoes au gratin.

Desserts had many gluten free options, and we enjoyed the creme brulee, assorted sorbet and root beer float.

Definitely one of my favorite spots in Utah.
10/10

Absolutely not a $270 for two people restaurant, this should be more like a $130 for two people restaurant. Steak was not cooked right, the shrimp were definitely frozen and rubber, service was extremely slow (3hrs for 2 people). The only good part was the cheesecake unfortunately

I had to pause and reflect before reviewing this restaurant as we have eaten many meals across the US and rarely have a cost / quality ratio this unbalanced. I see the reviews both on Google and trip advisor which is why we chose to eat here new years eve. The experience was, unfortunately, just average. The cost, was, very over priced. Our family of 4 were a little taken aback that all steak is a-la cart. Slab of meat only: $85. Each side is $12-$14, though shareable. (Wish we knew that detail). Drinks were higher priced as well for average spirits /wine. (Read: NOT top shelf) They made a better drink for me but there was an upcharge. So 4 steaks, 4 sides, 3 deserts, appetizer, few drinks plus tip was over $600. The bread tray app was a good way to start our meal, but thats where the good ended. The filet was underwhelming. Its very thick (2+”) and was undercooked in the middle (very raw) and dry /charred on the outside for a medium / medium rare. Seemed as though the grill was too hot. Not fine dining quality flavor or texture at all. The rib eye was better tasting than the filet. Any steak sauce is an extra cost which we had the reduction (good) and the house sauce (not good). Asparagus was good, root vegetables average, mashed potatoes average, but the bacon mac&cheese was really good. Unfortunately I do not recommend this establishment for fine dining as the expensive cost does not balance with the average food. Service was OK, though a little pretentious. With the loud atmosphere, i did struggle to hear our waiter a few times. It did take a while to get our food and it didnt all come out at the same time. For $600, they should know how to serve 4 people at the same time.
