We’re open 7 days a week, for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. We believe when you order and sandwich, you should get a sandwich with plenty of meat.. not a salad! Our sandwiches are piled high, so you won’t leave our place hungry! We also believe in serving fresh, health-conscious ingredients. Our salads are made with fresh greens and all of our soups and chicken salads are made in-house. You can feel happy with the choice you made to eat with us, and still, get plenty of delicious flavor in your food!

This was our first restaurant visit since moving to Lufkin, so we were excited to try something new. We walked in during a busy breakfast rush, but there were still plenty of open tables. Once we reached the front of the line, the young lady behind the counter greeted us right away, took our order, and handed us our cups. The drink station was clean and stocked with a good selection.
We grabbed a table—both the tables and floors were clean—and within about 10 minutes our food arrived.
I ordered the French Toast Combo, which came with four slices of French toast, two eggs, sausage, and seasoned potatoes. The meal came out on two plates, and everything was spot on. The French toast had a perfect light crunch on the outside while staying pillowy soft inside. The scrambled eggs and sausage were solid, and the seasoned potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft inside.
My wife ordered the Breakfast BLT—bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, and Duke’s mayo. She added a little hot sauce and absolutely loved it. Not a crumb left! She liked it so much that we also picked up a tub of their chicken salad to take home, and it was delicious later that day—no complaints at all.
We’ll definitely be back to Roost to try more of their menu!

I only come here for the potato salad! Absolutely love it but the sandwiches too! Sometimes I just want that deli sandwich that only Roost can offer. I want something that’s not your commercial type sandwich shop, ie Subway, Firehouse subs etc. Roost is the real deal! I thought of the picture after I was almost done. It doesn’t do it justice. Sorry. Next time. This is truly a gem.

Great menu! It was cold outside today and just as cold inside. But food tasted good. Coffee was good and hot! Didn’t like having to make several trips to get silverware. It would have been nice if they told us when ordering where everything was. Ordered combo meals, good value! Everything cooked to order so came out hot!

Manager was extremely rude over the phone, and completely not accommodating whatsoever. Ordered a cobb salad with crispy chicken instead of grilled and $10+ difference from last week. Had she been more pleasant I would’ve just paid the difference because the salad was that good but with a bad attitude, PLUS a $10 price hike? Absolutely not. I have never had a negative experience here, but I will never be back.

We tried this place because my wife was wanting breakfast for lunch. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to you. The food had pretty big portions. They was out of coffee but made some fresh for us. The food tasted good. They do bring it out one at a time though. It’s definitely worth checking out.

I ordered several items, including a Rooster and a grilled cheese with fries. They “didn’t hear” me order fries for my daughter and the sandwich came out with half the ingredients missing. I was brought back inside and rung up foe the feiws I’m pretty sure I already paid for with an attitude. The grilled cheese was just.. toast with cool cheese in between? They also brought the items out one at a time, and tried to bring the appetizer in the middle. Once I pointed out the first issue, the customer service went down the drain, I mean this woman came, ITEM BY ITEM and just dropped the food on our table! We said “thank you” each time but were met with intentional silence. I alerted the manager on duty after a long sigh when I asked for her, and was offered a refund OR a voucher, but I will not return. This was our first and last visit, this place is not worth a second chance. There are much nicer places in Lufkin to eat.

I don’t mind waiting on good food, but as I did the only thing I could eat was the fries. Ruined my entire day, normally this place is so good, maybe just an awful day. My sandwich had two tiny burnt sausages in my sandwich with like 30 eggs made it impossible to eat and it was disappointing to say the least at least it was cooked I guess just $30 meal for something that was not even close to the worth of $30 staff was great but that doesn’t help us not go hungry

I make sure to eat here at least once a week. Everything I have tried has been good, but the Texas Breakfast is where it’s at!!!!

Food was good. The pancakes were very hot, and they are huge. Good value for size of servings. Wanted to alter my order by switching the seasoned potatoes for hash browns. Same price. Shouldn’t be a big deal, right? Wrong. The cashiers response to that question was, ‘we can’t do that, there’s no sub button on the register’. I worked in retail management for 20 years. Same price, you just tell the cook to sub hash browns. Easy, peasy.
It is for this fact alone that I will not return. Stupid policy. It’s not hard.

Cute place with lots of flavor options for chicken salad, mile-high sandwhiches, salads, and even chicken fried steak. We were both very happy with our meals. Staff was friendly and helpful. Ingredients were fresh and excellent quality. Can’t wait to go back and try new items and maybe some chicken salad to go!
