These quite literally the best doughnuts in the world! They were always a hit at my job.
I drove 45 minutes to this snowy little town & loaded up! Doughnuts, bagels & a sandwich.
I visited Curiosity Doughnuts for the first time after a recommendation. I tried a variety of doughnuts/ flavors. I loved the glazed flavored ones as well as the original vanilla-glazed glazed. The dough was perfect!
(FEB 2025) I will say- that you should eat these donuts the same day because I noticed a couple of hours after purchasing that the texture of the dough started to change — still good! But I don’t think they would have been as good the next day.
UPDATE— OCT 2025 (Pro tip I discovered 8 months later ). If you order a bunch of doughnuts, pop them in the refrigerator (trust me). When you’re ready to eat, let them sit out at room temp—no reheating needed. They’ll taste just like you picked them up fresh, even hours later. You’re welcome lol.
If your are traveling from the city of Philly — it could be a haul of a drive but it’s well worth it!!!!
I highly recommend this place!!!!!
To start with, this could possibly be the best doughnut shop I’ve ever stuffed my face in. They don’t just stick to one kind of doughnut — they master them all. You’ll find yeast-raised classics like Vanilla Yeasted and Chocolate Yeasted, cake-style beauties like Feather Cakes and Super Cakes, and their phenomenal apple cider doughnuts. On top of that, they experiment with sourdough, brioche, panettone, and even challah-based doughnuts, creating textures and flavors I’ve never seen anywhere else. Basically, it’s doughnut heaven.
Today a fellow customer recommended I try the Pineapple Dream. It’s not a doughnut I would have chosen on my own, but the customer was so enthusiastic that I took the chance — and he was right. Absolutely spectacular.
The other curiosity about Curiosity Doughnuts is how perfectly and efficiently this place is run. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and there’s even a no-tipping policy — they believe great service should simply come standard.
The real curiosity is that you rarely come up against perfect perfection. And that’s exactly what they’re serving up here.
The dark knight and the brown butter sourdough cherry were phenomenal, but each one had a unique flavor without being overpowering.
The basic cloud donut was my favorite; probably could’ve eaten a dozen of these alone.
Definitely try this place!
That’s exactly why today, after my daughter finished basketball practice, I decided to make the 40 minute drive to Curiosity. Before leaving, I tried to do the responsible thing and check availability. I looked everywhere for a phone number—nothing. I found an email, but that’s not helpful when you’re trying to make a same-day decision. So we took the chance, assuming that if they were sold out, they would close or post some kind of notice.
That assumption was wrong.
After driving 40 minutes, we arrived to find out they were completely sold out with no donuts left. That is incredibly frustrating, especially for families making a long trip based on the business being listed as open.
This isn’t about being sold out I understand that happens. This is about communication. There needs to be some way to notify customers when inventory is gone, whether that’s a phone number, updated hours, or a simple notice online. Even a basic solution would prevent situations like this. I arrived at 1030AM which is 2 hours and a half after they open. Which is more than enough time to sell out and that’s why I tried to call.
The 3-star rating isn’t because the donuts aren’t great they are. It’s because this experience was avoidable and poorly handled. I arrived to a sign on the door portly written “Sorry- Sold Out”.
Unfortunately, I won’t be making that drive again unless this issue is addressed.
