A bit of New Hope history. Started by Joe Lombardi in the early 2000s. The first restaurant was a very small place set back a ways on the main street. Run by Joe Lombardi who was the Chef and owner and a couple waitresses who served and helped out with the cooking (that’s Joe in the painting). He ran the old restaurant for quire awhile, was well known for visiting tables and sharing a glass of wine with guest. He then chose to retire selling the business to Sam and Colleen, the current owners. Joey died in the Covid pandemic. RIP. The new owners carry on with an excellent menu and friendly, family style service. Like Joey, Sam and Colleen (that is them in the photo) will come visit your table to assure you are happy with your dining experience. There is a small “shrine” to Joey as many of his old customers still frequent the establishment. He is there toasting you as he often did. Two of my daughters worked for the restaurant as waitresses years ago. Our first dinner there was in 2006 on a gift certificate from my oldest son who was manager at The Little Taste of Cuba cigar shop across the street, now also long gone. The new owners moved the restaurant to its current location which is a bigger location and nicely decorated with a lovely ambiance. Try the pork chop. That was one of Joey’s last creation. Remember it is BYOB. The salads are also quite good as are the appetizers.

I stopped in to say hello to my friend who was there and wound up enjoying what I thought was an amazing experience. I ended up staying for a bit and relaxing while I observed the staff caring for a customers birthday dinner. They were excellent with their care and service too that family. I was very impressed with their attention to detail and genuine concern that their needs were met.. I also enjoyed some Delicious food as well. The atmosphere was excellent. The staff was friendly. The place was very clean and made me feel welcome. I will definitely be eating there again. It’s small businesses like this that make New Hope amazing in town that it is. What a wonderful family owned restaurant.

First time dining here and the food was delicious. We had the Barada salad for our first course followed by the meatballs and then the pork chop. Everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is cozy and vibrant with a helpful staff. The fact that it’s a BYOB put icing on the cake highly recommend.

A very cute cozy Italian restaurant. Owners came to greet us and made the experience very special. Food was great. Bread is provided too.

Next time I come I will ask to sit near the fireplace if that’s possible in my reservation.

Thank you!

Had dinner there on January 23rd, this was our first time visiting. The place was packed, the food was amazing.

The staff were battling a full crowd and still managed to take time to ask how things were, make small talk and serve the entire house. We had the enjoyment of sitting at the bar counter and watch the team communicate, laugh and deliver against a packed restaurant.

Colleen was extremely kind and thoughtful and the younger staff seemed to really enjoy working there which is always nice to see. Sam, who is the head chef kept things moving in the back and delivered excellent food with great flavor.

We will most definitely be coming back here many more times…

The restaurant was recommended by our B&B hosts when we asked about Italian restaurant, and they were right. The food was great and the server was attentive. Salads and appetizers are family style, meant to serve two people. There was a note saying they it would be $3 more for each additional person, but I’m not sure if that meant the size also increased. It’s a smaller place, so I would recommend reservations to be safe.

Such a great night! We shared the artichokes and the crumbled sausage and I had the Gnocchi as my entree but the best part of the night was the service! Emma was extremely kind, attentive, helpful, and welcoming. She set the tone as soon as we walked in and continued to make us feel welcome and taken care of throughout the whole night! Highly recommend.

Sam and Colleen were terrific hosts. We didn’t have a reservation, but we were seated immediately at the bar (which had a great viee into all the action in the kitchen). Scratch cooking at it’s finest with homemade pastas, desserts, great service. Limited menu due to pandemic supply didn’t make for a bad experience. We’d be back again.

Sam, the chef
along with Colleen and Joanna, which makes this place rock . The food is top-notch. This is the real deal . Make sure to make your reservations in advance. Everything is homemade and made to order. No detail is left unnoticed from the atmosphere to the serving ware. They will make you feel as if you were family! We were lucky to go back 2 nights in a row for the pork chops and bollinese and scallops..try the shrimp on fire …OMG !! Good job guys you are now our favorite restaurant

Came to Italian Cucina for my friends birthday and start to finish the entire experience was 10/10! The staff are amazing – professional but know how to have a good time; they gave excellent recommendations and made us feel like part of the family by the end of the meal. Can’t wait to come back again! The cacio e pepe ravioli, homemade meatballs, and italian long hot peppers were just some of our groups favorites
