I like the make your own bowl options here a bit better than the chipotle counterpart.
We parked in the back parking around across 24th street. It said free parking if 90 mins or less but you have to download app and register car. There is a nice entrance from the back side and additional seating out back as well.
We ordered a number of items on the kiosk. We have never been here before and so we wanted to take our time and not have to occupy the employees time. We go the pro bowls not realizing they also didn’t come with rice. So learning mistake for next time but everything we order was still amazing. The vegetables were perfectly roasted and fresh and same with the proteins. The samosas were my favorite and there are so many different sauces to choose from. Our youngest picky eater got a cheese naan pizza and devoured it no questions asked. One tip is that the spicy chicken is definitely spicy. Our family is used to spicy but I think my wife and kids were surprised by how spicy the “spicy” was. So take that into account when deciding. It was spicier than you think. It was still less than Thai spicy but up there with some Korean spicy.
The layout of the restaurant was great and very bright, vibrant and colorful. It was great atmosphere and welcoming. The glass windows into the kitchen with the tandoors were cool. The kids like playing on the magnetic word wall in the back. There is outdoor seating in the back too but it was a bit cold so everyone was inside.
The bathroom does have a digital code on it that you need to ask the employees for but they are single occupancy and very spacious.
Overall we would definitely eat here again and knowing what we know how, properly order what we want better.
Choolaah is such a great concept with quick, healthy, and flavorful Indian food that never feels heavy. The food is always fresh and consistent, and the bowls strike the perfect balance of being customizable while still approachable for anyone new to Indian flavors.
I especially like the variety of proteins and sauces. From tofu and paneer to salmon and chicken, there is something for everyone. The lentil daal and tikka masala make the bowls hearty and satisfying without ever weighing you down. It is fast casual dining done right and one of the better healthy options you will find in the city.
My food was very good. I love their garlic, Naan bread! Mmm! My bowl was right on time and healthy, too! Chicken was juicy and fresh!! I’m glad I stopped in.
What truly made my visit memorable, though, was the kindness and warmth from Savannah at the front counter. She greeted me with genuine friendliness, walked me through the menu with patience, and made the entire experience feel welcoming and personal. It’s rare to encounter that level of customer service, and it genuinely elevated my visit. I even ended up helping the next guest decide between Tikka and Butter Masala!
I’ll definitely be back! Thank you, Savannah!
Amazingly so, our food arrived and was cooked within 3.5 minutes. Everything was perfect into the right temperature and the sea zing was so balanced perfectly!
They have a large glass window area that views right into the kitchen and you can see the ovens where everything is cooked.
This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever experienced! for only a few dollars more you can choose options if you’re not vegan that are extremely exquisite like the lamb or salmon!
