We went for a quick dinner. They have a new chef here and we could tell. Everything we had was top notch with flavor. The apple cider vinaigrette for our roasted squash and spinach salad was excellent. My fajita was asgood as I’ve had and my wife raved about her fish tacos. The red sangria was big enough for us to share and very good as well.

Another day, another chance for more tacos with the RI Food Fight’s TacoMania. This time we started with Diego’s. As it was a Saturday, no tables were available from reservations but we were able to grab a seat at the bar.

The space is open, dark. A blend of Mexican homage and industrial brick. An open kitchen gives you the chance to watch your meal be prepared in full view.

Our bartender, Greer was super friendly and balanced attentiveness. She is detail oriented and was very accommodating. She quickly took care of our drinks and got our food order in ASAP.

They offered a limited menu for TacoMania and I chose the carne option. It came out in a crunchy blue corn tortilla. After a squeeze of lime, I dug in. The crunch was everything you wanted it to be and more. The beef with queso fundido made this a slight messy but overall delicious taco.

We got the cornbread souffle to share and it was outstanding. The souffle itself was savory and very corn forward, as opposed to the sweeter cornbread you see in the south. They add a touch of something sweet to balance it out.

My friend had the shrimp chimichirri tacos and they said they were a 10/10.

So glad to find another tasty spot in the TacoMania trail!

We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner at Diego’s in December 2025. The entire process was relatively simple and straightforward. Their events team reached out to us quickly after we submitted our inquiry. Meaghan asked us some up front questions, then started to plan with us. We had two folks with serious allergies (gluten and nuts) she assured us that gluten would be no issue at all. And I was really impressed when she said “And the kitchen will be nut free that night!”

We were able to pick a small menu for our guests. Margarita pitchers were and appetizers were placed on the table as soon as we arrived. Small desserts were a treat as well! Our server did a great job throughout the evening.

Overall, we had an excellent time. The space was good, the food was great, and the team kept things easy and streamlined. I’d host another event here in a heart beat!

Great place!! Everyone from the hostess to bartender to wait staff – fantastic! It was a busy night, so some of the order details were missed but otherwise we were all happy. Drinks and food were amazing and so tasty!

Whole place is an alternative vibe. Comfortable, inclusive and fantastic music!

Tried a few different taco places this month and Diego’s was the best! They season their homemade chips with salt and spices which totally makes them stand out! Their food is their own and VERY flavorful. Loved the housemade fried beef taco, tried the pulled pork street tacos and mini tinga chicken quesadilla and the guacamole The restaurant was clean and inviting and service was superb! Thanks for serving us great meals and great service! Keep up your awesomeness!

Second year of stopping in for RI Food Fights ‘Taco Mania!’. This year we had the Crunchy Carne Tacos and they were delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Great atmosphere whether you choose to sit inside or out on the patio.

A great experience overall! The service and the atmosphere I thought was awesome! The food was really good and the reason I rated the food 4 stars and not 5 is price and portions. I ordered the pulled pork chimichanga. Which overall was very good but I was still kind of left hungry and for $22 that’s all you got on the plate. It would have been great if they dressed it out with a side of refried beans, rice and beans, salad or something. There was not even the common complimentary basket of chips and salsa while you waited for your meal.

After 12mi of biking into Providence I saw Diegos and got so excited wondering if it was affiliated with the Newport location(which I LOVE) and this is their newest spot. We had bikes with us and it was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy the patio and ambiance. Chris our server was so accommodating and allowed us to park our bikes behind where we were seated in the corner to not be in anyone’s way. The cocktails are what really excites me with many delicious options. I went with the Bride of Carlos and Bad Larry (SO GOOD)!! I ordered a couple small plates for myself Mini Quesadillas and the Pork Belly Endive Bites which were pretty good. Chris and Daisy provided excellent customer service and were very friendly. The decor is so beautiful and vibrant. If you’re driving to this location there’s on street parking. There’s also cute little shops to walk around and explore the area. Will always come to Diegos for the craft cocktails!

girlfriend and i decided to give diego’s a go based upon a friends recommendation. sadly, it missed most marks. Richard L, our server, from the beginning seemed to fumble. Took about 20 min for him to come over, clear plates but never bring water for our empty cups. we ordered cocktails, the death proof is what i chose and it was the best part of the meal, and my gf said the same about her drink. after our drinks were brought out , we ordered food and and asked politely if water could be brought to the table….once again Rich seemed to forget all about that. the shrimp empanadas finally arrive and at this point he finally says how he forgot to bring us waters. no big deal , i resume and ask about the margarita specials that i read go on during trivia , which we were present for . Condescendingly so, he calls it the “el cheapo” which i personally had to ask if he was being funny or was it the actual name and i guess the owners own tone death attitudes may find that funny?! because surely enough that’s what they label it as on the menu ….not sure…regardless he did not know the flavors and made me feel stupid for even considering , i still ordered one ‍♂️. i got the burrito with beef birria and my girl got fajitas with the chipotle chicken. food was overly salty , beef birria looked as dry as dog food and served cold…no love or passion to this food , on top of super small portions for the price. all in all, the place was cute, the drinks were good but at the price of everything, you’d expect them to be, but sadly the service and the food all left a lot more to be desired. spent 100 dollars for two people and left quite underwhelmed. with a few tweaks , and a little more love and culture into the food and how it all is presented , it would and could make a night and day difference. best of luck but not sure if i’d return with so many more amazing options in our little city of providence
