I stopped by Maker to celebrate my birthday solo on a Friday night, and it was exactly what I needed. Since it wasn’t too busy, the atmosphere was peaceful and sophisticated. My server, Emily, was wonderful—she was incredibly attentive, professional, and made me feel right at home.

The food was outstanding: the pierogies were a great start, and the braised beef with gnocchi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I also loved the ‘Cleveland Rocks’ non-alcoholic drink. It was the perfect low-key birthday treat. Huge thanks to Emily for the great service!

Amazing experience with MacKenzi Matthews & Mike Gazdak, Casey Perez. It was my second time in Maker but this crew really make it special. Amazing customer service, super friendly and fun. I will definitely come back to the hotel and dinner as long as I see them attending.
One of the best Old Fashions I had was from Mike.
Thank you so much for the great experience

The Maker has a strange ambiance, slow service, and incredibly uncomfortable seating if you’re under 6.’ Brown walls, brown wallpaper, brown murals, brass trim – it has this Rust Belt Era vibe, which is nothing short of monotonous and depressing. It was not actually dirty but it felt dirty due to the poor design. The only thing truly grandiose about this place is the chartreuse ten foot tall chandelier. Please sell that thing and brighten up the walls with something more cheery. Service is mediocre at best, and I’ll blame it on the way that the place was arranged (the kitchen is not central). The plates are really small, overpriced, and bland. The waiter did ever so slightly more than the bare minimum. I didn’t complain because I just wanted to run away. At the end of the day, you could get better meal & service around the corner at Starbucks for less, or spend 2-3X as much & still save on the margin at Morton’s. Came here for vibes…still trying to shake the ick.

We booked with the maker a month in advance for Valentine’s Day expecting a luxury experience due to the atmosphere and pricing. We were then sat in between two other couples with very little spacing that you would bump into other tables to get out. We then waited 50 minutes without service and I proceeded to let the hostess know. The server never once asks us if we were served and he was in the section several times. Then after letting them know the server took 10 more mins and us going back up to get to us with no apologies. We did enjoy the pretzel charcuterie and steak fritz, the chicken Alfredo was mushy, hard, cold, and unseasoned. Our server then proceeded to hand us the wrong tables bill. We spent over 130+ and this experience is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and I’ve had better service at McDonald.

it would be too easy to just say this is an excellent bar, with incredibly delicious food & an amazing atmosphere,
simply because its located in a lovingly renovated, unique & historic hotel …
but it is !

The service here was truly impeccable, no doubt because it’s located within the absolute epicenter of high-end hospitality in town. Our bartender/ waiter was welcoming, friendly, helpful & fun; great hospitality and great service.

We enjoyed “The Downtown Smash” burgers, and they were fantastic… I’ve had great smash burgers in the past, and these were right there with the best.
The fries were undeniably delectable also… perfect consistency, flavor & crunch.

Does it affect your senses that, while eating your smash-burgers, you’re also under a stunning chandelier, surrounded by marble, elegant furniture, a grand piano, and fine linens ?

Yea, it probably does…
and thats a good thing.

If you have a chance to experience this, i heartily recommend you do.

Open atmosphere and plenty of seating. Staff helpful and friendly. Ordered takeout of the chocolate cheesecake. $12 (overpriced) for the order. Rather dense and pretty small, scoring as one of the lower ranking cheesecakes I’ve had. Wasn’t the worst, yet I wouldn’t order it again.

Went here for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend expecting to enjoy wonderful food an amazing experience and maybe a cute cocktail. The night was far from that and in fact the complete opposite.

To begin our reservation was for 8:00PM we arrived at 7:50PM the host said one second we’re still cleaning your table (which is perfectly fine). However, when we were seated we were seated in between two couples who were already eating. You can tell this seating was meant for a party of 6 and not three different couples trying to enjoy a meal as the seating was far too close to the point where speaking was uncomfortable, as anyone could just be listening to your conversations. Additionally it was a nightmare for the people on the bench to get up without bumping into someone else’s table.

With that being said we were seated at 7:55 and watched as servers walked past us serving the people sitting next to us and in our general area avoiding making eye contact with us as if they were purposely not serving us. Around 8:45 we finally spoke to a server and they said they would go talk to someone about it. 15 minutes later… nothing. I finally got up and spoke to a different server who was the server for everyone in the section and the best he could do was say sorry.. for making us wait an hour.. without water… on Valentine’s Day.

An hour wait with no explanations. We ordered the charcuterie board which was really good. The steak frites medium rare which was impossible to cut but the bites I did get were decent although the flavor was lacking. The chicken Alfredo which was mushy and a texture nightmare and also came with barely any chicken compared to the amount of pasta served. All this say the charcuterie board and steak weren’t worth the 60 minute wait and I could have cooked at home for that experience

Overall this was a miserable experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. An hour wait with no compensation and a half baked apology with no explanation. As someone said previously this is a place that will take your money and you won’t go back to. They didn’t even leave us the right check when we asked to leave.

Ps. They served the couple next to us a steak with no fork

I tried the restaurant for the first time. All in all, it was good and the environment was awesome. Service was a little slow but I think it was because they were a little understaffed.

Ashley was our server for the evening! She was just lovely! We were celebrating my birthday and her special touches did not go unnoticed! The bartender and manager were very friendly and accommodating as well! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and seated next to the windows with an excellent view of the Christmas lights of Public Square!
Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Fantastic cocktails and service that invites you to stay “just a little bit longer”. Olivia and Mackenzie were friendly, fun, and always present about the needs of the patrons. The visual aspect of the establishment is perfect! The staff however, pulls it all together.
