Wok On By is my go-to spot for amazing Chinese food! The General Tso’s combo is incredible—crispy chicken with just the right amount of sweet and spicy sauce, plus perfectly cooked fried rice and an egg roll that hits the spot. The Chicken with Cashew is another favorite: tender chicken, fresh veggies, and crunchy cashews in a flavorful sauce.
The staff here is always friendly and quick with service, and the food is consistently hot and fresh. The portions are big enough to leave you full (or with leftovers for later!), and the prices are great for the quality.

Saw NY Style Chinese Food and knew I had to try it. Got great recommendations from the cashier and tried the General Tso’s Chicken and House Special Fried Rice. They were delicious! Will be back when I’m back in Tampa!

This was a huge disappointment. But I will start with the positive. The bourbon chicken was good, and the white rice was cooked well. The crab rangoons were a bit chewy but tasty. The egg drop soup was a zero. It was like a gummy bear soup. The thing was so thick and gooey it wouldn’t even scoop. The fried wontons were so old they were almost white! So so stale! If you don’t care about the quality of the food you are serving to people, you shouldn’t be in business. What a waste of money.

Food was made on time, and the flavor was good! Large portions are actually large, and worth the money in my opinion. My girlfriend and I like the sweet and sour chicken and the lo mein, but the bourbon chicken was too chewy. They did however give us free Rangoon’s which were good. Overall good experience will come back in future.

I ordered wonton soup and krab Rangoon. The wontons in the soup are huge and filled (something you don’t usually see in wontons) also there are 8 krab Rangoon in an order which are delicious and filled up as well. Food has great flavor and you get a good quantity.

No allergen list available nor is the menu marked. Ordered plain Lo Mein and my daughter ended up in the ER in FULL ANAPHYLAXIS because they put peanut butter in their sauce. When we went back to ask them what was in the sauce they simply said “a lot.” When we told them what happened to our daughter the worker LAUGHED! The food was horrible anyway, restaurant was gross and dirty but this horrible customer care took the cake. I will make sure everyone in Carrollwood knows how little you care.

Man this was already the best Chinese food around, but recently they’ve stepped up their game even more! The brown sauce is somehow 5x better when it was already really good, and the wings have gotten better too which were also already really good. There is no competition as far as I’m concerned. Just like I had growing up in nyc. I always get large broccoli and carrots with extra brown sauce with chicken wings and egg rolls. I tried this place for the first time last week. Wok On By is now my go-to-spot when im not sure what I want to eat because I know I will not be disappointed here. The food, along with the service here, is amazing. I will be moving to another area soon but it is worth the trip!! Also, do yourself a favor and try the crab rangoon. Good prices and great portions. You won’t regret it!
